Albright working in one direction only

Hi, I have a 'new' (never used) Albright contactor that is only working in one direction. I have switched the terminals around on the motor and can get it to run in the other direction so everything seems to be working there. I can hear the contactor click when I jumper the one spade terminal...

    40 Series on 7.50R16 ‘s

Sorry did not see this until today. They are fine around town but by 80km/hr they get quite loud. I do love the look of them and think they are a great original looking option for the 40 series. I drove with them a couple of times in the snow and they seemed quite planted and have also been...

    40 Series on 7.50R16 ‘s

When looking for some replacements for the 30x9.50r15 I put the 235/85r16 winters on for a while. I really liked the look of the 235’s (and I thought I was going to go that way) but then I decided to go for a more ‘original’ look and started looking for some 7.50’s to maintain the 32” diameter...

    Wiring an 8274 + Albright

Bit a resurrection of this thread but I am in the midst of a refurbishment of both an 8074 and a newer style (but still old) 8274 and there are numerous differences. A couple these have come along to bite me along the way, the biggest being the contractors (I bought two off Dieselize who...

    Randy88FJ62’s Warn 8274 rebuild thread

I am wondering if it got hit by something. I think it was on a trailer before. I got ambitious after seeing your thread and milled up some pieces for it and welded it up. I ran it through the blast cabinet and could not see any other cracks so we will see if any new ones develop. What filler rod...

    Opinions on Engine Australia?

Thanks guys. The opinions seem pretty consistent, I got the same answer from my local distributor (good but use the Toyo gaskets) but it is nice to hear the same thing from someone who is not selling it.

    Randy88FJ62’s Warn 8274 rebuild thread

How was the welding on the end support? Mine needs a repair but I was wondering if it would be easier to just buy another However, if I was to follow your lead on the cross bars I might as well try the repair. Any advice? Thanks.

    Opinions on Engine Australia?

Hello, looking into an engine rebuild on a 1HD-FTE. Over the years I have seen a few recommendations for Engine Australia, particularly on parts for the 12HT. Does anybody have any experience good or otherwise with the company? They seem to have been around for quite a while so must be doing...

    Warn 8274 drain plug install

Just a quick note to add to the base of knowledge. I installed a drain plug in my 8274 today but rather than weld on a bung I simply drilled and tapped the case as others have before me (and used a 1/4” brass pipe bung.) So nothing new there but what I did do is measure the depth from the bottom...

    Warn 8274 Ratchet Ring

Hello, After going through several of the rest threads I have not seen any discussion of the solid vs drilled ratchet ring. I am in the midst of restoring two winches, an 8074 and an 8274. The 8074 had the original puck style friction slugs in it where the 8274 has the friction rings however...

H55f/H151 shifter locations with 1HDT in 70 series

I may have found what I am looking for: 1HDT into a BJ70 It looks like the shifter position is close but does anyone have any direct experience?

H55f/H151 shifter locations with 1HDT in 70 series

Hello, I am looking at a new FJ75 project that I would swap a 1HDT into (the vehicle has a good H55f in it behind the 3F.) I have been reading about the challenges with attaching the 1HDT to the H55f so I was looking at using an H151 but what I have not been able to find is the relative...

AC issue, odd pressures from compressor

Thanks SteveH, good to know! I was thinking of changing them both despite the difficulty. I was having a hard time believing it was the compressor as it failed while sitting for a few weeks and it makes no more noise than it should. I could the valve getting 'sticky' however.

AC issue, odd pressures from compressor

Thanks Mike, that is an easy and relatively cheap fix to try. For my understanding, how can the dryer create this problem? Is it a restriction issue?

AC issue, odd pressures from compressor

I believe it was 100 psi on the high side and 80 psi on the low.

AC issue, odd pressures from compressor

Hello all, The AC on my 1989 HJ61 suddenly stopped working after sitting for about 3 or so weeks. It has always worked well and fires right up in the spring. We added some R12 to it about 5 years ago and it has been great ever since...until today. Luckily my Dad has the necessary gear so after...

    H55F in a 1978 BJ40

I did read extensively on the swap and all the different permutations between the model years and top plates so I decided to post this to make sure that the 1978 with 60 series top plate version is now covered. In the end I had my suspicions but the guy was adamant that it was not a problem so...
