just FYI, on the hood stuff, i just used some i got from home depot and it works great, it's not a place that requires a complicated weatherstrip setup. you can see it here:
@NLXTACY, EOE_Overland - well, technically, i _could_ isolate them. it would be work, but i could do it (i would make sure that nothing on the circuits from that battery grounded to the chassis, but rather a ground i rand directly from the battry), that's why i was asking if they should share a...
oy. seriously, who cares? what's wrong with customizing your rig until it looks like a fxxxing tomato? personally, i just ripped apart my entire dash. i pull my s***ty pad off, and all the other bullsh!t. i'm going to replace a bunch of stuff with carbon fiber, and i ordered haneline gauges, and...
yeah, price seems pretty nutto (i bought mine for $1200 hahhhahahah), but to be fair, i have seen lots of FJ40s posted for that much, and they're not even this nice.
anyway, some interesting mods, and if they were done well, would certainly be good case studies. too bad there's not a build...
Hi all,
I'm going to try my hand at redoing my dash with carbon fiber.

i'm also looking into doing some custom carbon-fiber work. my thought is that i would build the underlayment out of wood, and then do carbon fiber on top (much like fiberglass - which, unfortunately, i've done quite a bit of).
it's kind of a pain in the ass. there are about (5) or (6) bolts with 8mm nuts that hold it in on top, and two on the bottom. the two on the bottom are easily accessible, but the rest are as follows:
-> two behind the glove box assembly, you have to take the glove box inside out to get to them...
yeah, here are two defrost options:
-> FRESH AIR DUCT HOSE : JC Whitney: Auto Parts & Accessories
-> FlexForm Dust Collection Hose - Rockler Woodworking Tools
i want the oh sh!t handles that are above the doors. not door handles or rollers.
