The meeting place is not centralized around the Atlanta vicinity anymore as it always used to be :hmm: Not sure when that happened, but that's when I stopped going. I think the last meeting I attended was Fuddruckers at Perimeter Mall  I did see some members at the "recent" December...
I'm on the fence really wanting to get this one:
https://www.sleeping-bag.net/car-tent-roof-top-tent/2-person-camping-hard-shell-car-roof-top-tent-with-rack-and-net-yarn-factory-oem.html
It has 360 deg. view & a roof rack
The only one I could find in the states similar is the Roofnest Sandpiper...
I have the same Ideal tire groover. It seems to me the extra metal around the brass head would be a heat sink & take away needed temperature from the blade (?). Maybe it doesn't:hmm: You tried it yet?
Steering & all associated parts are finished :p Last item to fab is I need to add braces to the front 4 link mount (outboard of the frame) as it takes the load of the front roll cage as well as forces from the axle.
I'm guessing Adam's rendering looks like 39" Baja T/A's on there.
I can already see how much fab work it'll take to get those rear flares/doors to work. I remember I was gonna cut mine out but put down the plasma & lived with it.
Can't get those flares off my mind. Wonder what would be less co$tly, r & d fiberglass molds or fab from steel? Any body guys on here care to guestimate per corner?
Too bad this rendering didn't exist when I started my build or I may have gone a different route. Those flares & the stance make a world of difference to the old boxy lines. Would be cool to see this come to life if someone was inspired enough.
Not satisfied with the angle of the old hydro ram mount on the axle housing, I should have fabbed it up like this from the beginning. I'll finish boxing the outsides next. I have a removable mount designed for the ram on the opposite end.
If you watch Fantomworks on Velocity channel, you would notice they have an FJ40 in their shop. They are located in Fairfax, Va.:

I cut off the upper bar surround on the roof rack & remade my hi-lift mount. I also made my hydroboost hoses, new clutch master & slave, & added all fluids. Not getting fire so I'm in the process of tracking down that issue. Not sure I want to get this rewired as the harness looks good & is not...
