I'm still alive guys! sorry it has been so long. I have not been doing much work on Winston lately, but may get back into the swing of things soon. I am going to powdercoat a few of the "silver/gray" parts to keep them looking good for YEARS to come. The one thing that i am in DESPERATE need...
Yeah, they would be $900 each, using our steel insides, and would not involve the horn button. Maybe we just have Ehsan start these up???? :o
I dont know if he is using the Alumalite or not, but he would somehow have to get our metal guts inside that mold to line up perfectly. That would...
I can get your early FJ40 steering wheel made brand new. Actually, it will be better than new! Here is the deal:
I have a 1966 and 1967 FJ40. I will be restoring one of them. The steering wheels were bad, and had cracks separations, which I understand are usual.
I wanted to get a new...
Ok, it has been SOOOOOO nice outside here, and since I was going to have to take the top off to restore it and underneath it eventually, I decided to take the top off on Sunday. Why wait, huh? :p It took me 38 minutes from start to finish. I was kind of surprised to find that the soft top...
That doesnt look so much like a '69. It looks like it has the large window carb and no solenoid, though the solenoid was an option. With the hood bumpers and most importantly, THE TALL THERMOSTAT HOUSING, it looks like an earlier model. Just my thought.
Mark, the housing is cast iron, looks identical to the one that came off of my '67(probably original), but had a longer neck (about an inch longer). I put the pulley from my 68/69 motor on it and it worked fine. Thus, it appears that when you use the 68 and up water pump, you have to use the...
The SOR kit is a conversion to the '68 and up waterpump and the necessary hoses that went to it. Unfortunate for my wallet, I speak with them on a regular basis.
Just had to add for reference of anyone doing a search that the '66 knob looks the same as the '67 knob (upper photo), but the '67 has a larger input diameter. Odd, but true.
I have been told that the early (Pre '68) water pumps are not available anymore and that you must now convert to, and use, a '68 to '75 pump. Thus, to replace mine, I went to the local auto parts store and got one. I installed it on my '67 FJ40. When I went to put on the water pump pulley, it...
Spector. 1-818-882-1238. They have most everything that you can possibly get for an FJ40. Ask for Mark and tell him that CJ sent ya!
The rubber for the quarter windows, which is the only rubber that I have installed thus far, came as a "one-piece" joined-at-the-ends rubber that was too big...
First, I am very jealous. That is in my top 5 of all-time dream vehicles you got there.......and for 800 dollars????!!!! Get outta here!!!:flipoff2:
You are a VERY lucky man and we are VERY happy for you (IF YOU PROTECT IT WITH YOUR LIFE!!)
I agree that the paint is not original. If I...
465s have very large ribs that run front to back and there are two rows of them, with a PTO output on the driver's side. See here buddy and good luck!

In the first picture of my dizzy above, what is the purpose of the larger flat head screw that is next to the vaccuum diaphram??? Maybe that is something to adjust to fix my vaccuum diaphram wobble?
