Hardtop, stock engine, SM465 tranny, Saginaw P/S. Rockers and back corners are rusted and carb needs rebuild or replacement. It runs and drives well, except the carb shipons the float bowl dry if it sets for long. Me and it are in Colorado Springs CO. Firm at $1800 PM me if you want the...
My 71 doesn't have anything like that but it is a federal spec. I think Calif. spec 71's are a little differant. Spector Off Road web site has drawings of most of the emission stuff for each year. I don't think any 71 had a floor shift stock but pretty common swap, it is a 3 speed right?
I'm shocked that nobody have answerd with..Search is your friend or.. use FAQ.
I have no life so here goes. I put seats out of a Honda Prelude in mine, had to make brackets for them but not hard job. You can fit almost any seat you want in there with some minor fab work. I would go to the...
I did a 465 in my 71 some years age, I like it better that the 3 speed but I have owned a 4speed Cruiser before and don't think I would trade a Toy 4 speed for a 465. Just my opinion.
My 88 mini with 22RE let me down today, we had flooding here and driving home I had water coming up to the hood a few times. After the second deep water hole I had to dry out the distributor to get home.
Any suggestions on waterproofing the dizzy? Is the Toyota cap sealed any better than...
The float bowl on the carb has a site glass (little round window) The fuel level should be about 1/2 way up that window before you turn it over. Mine will drain down if it sets a few days so I think it needs a rebuild but too lazy. If it's not up to the window you need to adjust the float...
Well I got the tailgate and it seems to be a good match for the original, everything bolted up well.
Only question I have is it sits about 1/4" lower than the top of the bed. Should there be rubber or plastic spacers under the hinges? The truck was not all together when I got it so don't...
Thanks Juke, I just looked at Ebay and that's one of the companies I found. They all seem to have the same picture a tailgate with "copywrite" were Toyota should be.
I have an 88 mini truck. I sometimes haul firewood and such so I think steel would be better but thanks for the post. I going to just order one so I will report back on the quality when it shows up.
Has anyone bought one of the steel replacement tailgates from on-line? I have found several web sites that sell them for about $ 270.00 with shipping. I have given up on the U-Pull-It's, they are always rusted out and I hate to have it painted without one. I'm just not sure what I will get...
Well I have pretty much given up on finding a bed or a tailgate for mine. Going to make a tailgate from expanded metal and tube and shoot a cheap paint job on the whole thing and call it done.
I will start by saying I'm pretty lame on electronics but my daughters 4 Runner was running all kinds of goofy, I couldn't find the problem until the alternator crooked. Replaced the alternator and no more troubles. I think the over/under voltage to the ECM was screwing it all up.
Someone told me yesterday that even the newer beds are different between 4WD and 2WD ? I can't imagine why they would be he said he was sure they were.
Anyone know if a 76 japan bed will fit on an 88 P/U without too much drama? They are both 6' but I can't get to the 76 until next week to do any measuring. Worried about the gas door and spare tire drop thing being an issue.
