Nice truck.
I just bought something similar to yours - also low miage, Japanese import (to the UK) with fridge etc -
Pics here
54,000 miles and mine for along long time to come hopefully..
The 63,000 miler is out. A dog! I can't reconcile the pictures in the ad with the vehicle. No way this is a low mileage truck. Filthy. Off to see the other one tomorrow...
Thanks for that.
As you may see from my Signature I currently have a 100 series. I have owned it for 4 weeks and it has been back at the dealers for the last 3. I have asked for my money back as they have been struggling to fix the suspension, aircon and a very smoky engine. I am going to buy...
1997 80 with 63000 miles
1992 80 expedition prepared
I guess the choice boils down to what you want to do with the vehicle. The expedition truck is a bit over specced for me - i like the TJM winch bumper, the suspension and the extra fuel capacity. It has been lavished with time and money...
The breather is fine.
I noticed a small oil weep where the large rubber hose connects to the Intake heater. I disconnected the hose (which wasn't very tight) and there was oil inside the pipe. I don't know where the intake heater draws air from and have no idea how oil can be entering the air...
I've taken a look at the pump and the alignment marks are all there and it seems to be in the right position. I think it is time to take it to a diesel engine specialist. I'll post up what they decide. Thanks for the input so far. I appreciate it.
I wondered about the glow screen.ill get it tested along with the compression - It only smokes on first starting - thereafter there's no sign of smoke. Would it smoke every time if it was the glow screen?
i should also mention that there's quite a lot of soot which builds up at the end of the...
I recently bought a 2003 LC 100 with a 1HD-FTE engine.
It has done 93,000 miles and has a partial service history - all the main service stamps from Toyota are in the service book but it is missing the intermediate (4500 mile) service stamps. One owner had it for the first 7 years and I...
I just bought a 1993 70 series - You can view the eBay ad here - It says ended but click on the image of the truck and you can still see the ad.
I'm picking it up next week and will spend the time between now and then thinking of ways to improve it.. it's pretty good though - looks like a three...
My 80 was at the garage today having a new front exhaust fitted and the fan belts changed. I got home after picking it up and switched off the engine while I checked the work - all looked good... I tried to start up the truck and all I got was a loud (very fast) clicking.
I guess there is...
Dan, the widget (dare I tell you) seems to have fallen out of favour in recent years. One or two beers still use it but it has lost its mainstream appeal. Personally I still rank it as one of the top inventions of the 20th century and am glad that Boddingtons and one or two others have kept...
Good news! Both hubs have good grease - it looks like it doesn't have any oil in there - maybe the contamination is deeper in the hub. From what I can see, the grease in the hub looks like new.
Hey Dan:cheers:
At first it poured quickly and I thought it would be fine (it looed fine when I dipped my finger in) but towards the end (once it was down to a trickle) it was looking much more greasy. The last of it was pretty thick.
