It's the metal tubes under the battery that connect to rubber hoses, which go to the transmission cooler. Providentially, I was watching the coolant drain (to flush it and put new in) and saw it drip.
I see a few folks have recently gotten theirs from other mudders who had them on the shelf...
Took them off in late 2019 when we went to BFG's. The shredded one we tossed, the best one we used as a spare, and that left three. One became a tire swing, which leaves these two. They should hold air, and they have a reasonable amount of tread left. Rubber has some cracking.
FREE...
Usable condition, I finally gave up looking for 275's. I had a flat that shredded the tire, discovered the spare was also NG, etc etc.
The factory spare is now a tire swing, but I still have two LTX 275's.
They are free, definitely far from new but still have some life left. Satisfaction...
Fixing up the new-to-us farm truck, bought for $1000 with a bunch of known problems.
The air temperature adjustment knob didn't turn smoothly, previous owner used to just manually shift it to HOT in winter and COLD in summer. I decided I'd be all fancy and see if I could make it so I can change...
Had one LTX fail and discovered the spare was also no good after 20+ years under the truck. The other relatively new LTX is now the spare (I went to ko2's), the old spare is slated to become a tire swing, and that leaves me with two LTX's that hold air. Tread is worn and starting to see little...
Oi, I had a bad feeling this was going to happen. Went to take off my rusted trailer hitch and 2 of the 6 bolts snapped off.
Customarily I would use heat and quench with penetrating oil, then try to use an LH threaded drill bit to remove. Any other approaches people would suggest? I kinda hate...
My cheesy Magnaflow downpipe and cats are toast after under 3 years, with the #1 cat coming apart internally and dumping its contents into the #2 cat. When I try to remove the #2 cat to empty all that junk out, I find that the hardware is rusted into one big glob. When I use an angle grinder to...
It seems like everyone and their dog has taken the hitch off their truck, I actually want one because we're moving and I'd love to be able to tow a box trailer behind the 80.
Located in Pittsburgh, ideally would find one not too terribly far from here.
Doesn't have to be beautiful but has to...
I'd posted an ad looking for some LTX 285 75 16's, and received a PM from a user called 'Stevemoore' who appeared to have registered just for the purpose (0 posts), stating that:
Hello,
If you are still interested in the set of 4 Tires 285 75 16. I know of a guy named Williams in Denton, TX...
Ideally LTX's, or whatever Michelin replaced the LTX with, but basically something decent, not worn out, not dry rotted, not made in China. Basically I have decent fronts, bald back tires, and would like all 4 to wear out at the same time.
Anyone taken off their stock size tires and still have...
Anyone looking to unload some decent, non dry rotted 275/70/16 LTX's? My back tires are getting pretty bald and I'd love to put some decent used ones on, so that the fronts and backs wear out at the same time.
Thanks in advance!
Toyota Land Cruiser
Ad doesn't have any pictures of under the truck (and in this area, you'll want to see them), but if it's decent, that's not a bad deal at all for a 97 with that kind of low miles.
Looking for 2 of those little cylindrical spacers that go around the big screws to hold the windshield frame to the cowl. Anyone have a couple hanging around? Thanks in advance.
Found on Craigslist while looking for parts. You now know as much as I do:
1973 FJ-40 FJ40 Land Cruiser Project Vehicle
From the pictures it looks like the truck has had a hard life - the paint job looks pretty quick-and-dirty with overspray everywhere, there's a half-done 6.0/NV4500 swap in...
Bestop Tiger Top, off my 40. Frame (I think one small piece is missing, but it's available from Bestop for $20 shipped), and the vinyl top itself. Needs the little button thingies that go at the top of the tub, and possibly the rail that goes at the top of the windshield.
Asking $100. If you're...
Hey guys,
I'm putting an Aisin winch on the LX and have one question. It's clear to me where all of the connectors go, except for this one that shows up between the solenoid ("magnet switch", in Toyota-ese) that lives under the battery and the winch :
It wouldn't reach the winch, so it...
SOLD
Guys, if you're running the oldschool Bestop, at this price you should grab it for a spare!
Oldie but goodie. This is the tiger top we put on my FJ40 back in ... 1994 or thereabouts. It was on the truck for 7 years until we took it apart in 2001 for 'just a little' work. We finally ended...
Picked up a spare set of LX450 wheels because I had been thinking of running studded snow tires, but changed my mind.
These are from a northern truck and have definitely seen salt. (Didn't bother me, because my plan was to have them blasted and powder coated). It also looks like when the...
Anyone move on from LTX's and want to sell me a couple? I'd prefer to buy two instead of four, because I have two good ones on the front wheels, but I'd consider a full set if the price is right.
I'm in Pittsburgh, PA but I've shipped tires before.
Is this big flat spot meant to be there? I looked for pictures of the Bosal unit in other postings and I thought I saw one with a similar spot, but still wanted to ask. Considering that Rock Auto just puts a priority mail label on the outside of the pipe (they do pad the flanges and the mounts...
