I have a leed on a retrofitted disc brake axle, but it is off a 1966 cruiser. I have a 1971, and the brake kit will not fit my year. Is the 1966 a ball and claw axle or to they have the coarse spline birfs like my 71? Any help would be awesome, I need to get my braking situation...
I have the sides and lift gate off of a 71' Fj40. Good but not great, original paint, small amount of rust, glass good. Fiberglass top in rough shape but can be included. $200

I know stainless exhaust is available for the muscle car market. That would be a great source for the tube, then find a shop to fix it to your fj...:hhmm:
I am doing the tear down for my front disc and possibly soa project. I found some pitting on both balls at the end of the housing and on my ring gear. It seems mild, but should I be concerned about my findings??? :bang:
I recently scored a 40 front axle with a mini disc conversion. I planned on going SOA, but I have decided to wait, and do 4 wheels discs and lockers.
1. What would be the best performing front brake configuration?
A. What Rotors?
B. What Calipers?
2. What would be the best...
The PO had soft doors on my 40 and removed the door stop, where the hard door striker meets the tub.
Does any one have a picture and/or possibly dimensions of the door stop so I can fab one???
Axles
Do you still have the axles? If yes, was the front axle cut and turned? PM me if you still have them, Im also in the bay area....
