    Any Vise Collectors Here?

@Waorani Yes. M2 were newer but not newest. Yours still has the classic Columbian "T" style jaws (great if they are new like yours, a royal P.I.T.A. if you have to replace them). Mine have the newest style replaceable jaws. Biggest combination vise Columbian made was the 206 (6" jaws).

@Waorani My 205 is the only vise I can never sell. Was my Dad’s vise. A phenomenal tool!

    Any Vise Collectors Here?

@Shyrock Looks like some steel vises i have seen. Perhaps "shop" made? The weld on the dynamic is what makes me think so. Recent import designs look nothing like this one. Closest out there design wise are new Ridgid and Heuer vises but clearly not one of those. True mystery vise you have...

@TomH I can't turn down a nice 3" vise. These are so cool! Time to make a handle. @bhsdriller The Athol 6 series are TANKS! The size of the jaw support and the heft of their static jaw above the slide are like no other manufacturer. Great find!

@RodrigzCrzr If you are going to start doing vise restorations, this is a great tool for your toolbox. Sharpie paint markers make the lettering effortless!

    Any Vise Collectors Here?

Yes! I cut a top flange to match the bottom of the static jaw and bolted it to it. It is not common practice to weld anything to the actual vise.

    Any Vise Collectors Here?

@RodrigzCrzr Athol vises are absolute TANKS! Great pick up!!! What size jaws? Judging by the slide length, I’d say it is at least a 6”. Here is a picture of my 300 pound 8” Athol 618.

@bsilva132 Post a pic of the swivel lock on the other side. They went from the plunger style (early) to the lever style in the 20s I believe.

    Any Vise Collectors Here?

@Mr Wonderful I've had both and can say that I think I like the newer design (excluding the fact that mine, as yours was new, and had no issues). It is not as massive in the lower jaws as the old ones were but I like the fact that there is full thickness metal across the top of the jaws with...

So… I sold my Wilton 800. Guy came by to buy a 5” Reed and saw it and said he had to have it. Promptly told him he couldn’t afford it as it was not for sale. He assured me he could afford it and bought both vises that day. 3 days later, I picked up a new in box Wilton C3!

They were all painted black from factory. The "R" series Reeds were painted a dull gray. I'm sure mine was painted to go with the Texaco livery.

@remwines Its weird how many combination vises are missing the pipe jaws. My understanding is the new Yost pipe jaws are close enough to alter and work. Here is my old service station Reed 34 (also missing pipe jaws)… …and welcome to the forum!!!

    Any Vise Collectors Here?

@MrMikeyG I had the covers rattling around in my stash. I painted it fresh out of the box as I am not a fan of the newest shade of gray. The green is the Behr satin "Black Evergreen"
