Yes. This is how I wired it.
Everything worked fine until I replaced my light bulbs with LED bulbs...ever since then, my lightbar does not work. Nor does my high beam indicator light on my dash.
Understood.
I just liked the idea that the bar would only work when I had high beams on…that way if/when I turned high beams off, the bar would also automatically turn off.
Would it work that way through the relay?
Thanks!
I have not, but I was thinking the same thing (possibly something to do with the LED bulbs).
Unfortunately I had to surrender my old bulbs since I was replacing them on a warranty situation.
This is a real long shot, but figured I would ask...
I drive a 1990 HDJ81 1HDT which I installed an LED lightbar on last spring. I wired it so that it would only be on if the lightbar switch was on and my hi beams were on. Everything worked fine, but this November after having a headlight bulb...
Interesting!
I’ve already got a socket for my front bearings, but it looks like I need to grab one of these so I can work on the rear wheel bearings.
As always, thank you guys for the information!
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the socket required for tightening the nut on the rear axle bearing nut?

Toyota said they cannot sell tools to customers.
Does anyone know if MAC, MATCO, or SNAP-ON carries something equivilant?
Thanks in advance.
I can only assume it is the original alternator. It is a Denso so I guess I’ll have it repaired.
No oil leaks or water on it. All connections seem fine.
I am honestly not sure what the lights are but here is a picture of my dash showing the lights
You can see that the voltage is not yet where it should be…it eventually (~10 seconds) get midway between the center mark and 18v.
Again, I am reading 14.2v at each battery once the lights go out.
I have a 1HDT that various dash lights stay on for a while after I start it. These lights seem to be staying on a bit longer than they used to after starting.
Both batteries show 12.4v prior to starting.
The voltage on both batteries increases slowly up to 14.2 volts.
The lights go out right...
I’ve got a1990 HDJ.
My OEM switches for my antenna up, center diff lock, rear defrost, headlight washer, and factory foglights do not light up with my lights on…the only one that does light up is my antenna down.
I have pulled each switch out of the dash, but don’t know if I can pull the...
Was driving today and noticed that the green Turbo light on the instrument cluster was not coming on.
What controls this light? What does the light indicate? I am reading as high as 10-12 pounds of boost, but still no light
Thanks in advance.
I am thoroughly confused by what people say that the power for the high beams is actually on the ground side(?)
Can anyone tell me what wire I need to connect the “hot” wire of my light’s wiring loom to in order to get the light bar to work only when my high beams are on?
Thanks in advance!
