    Holly Sniper 1 Issue

I have a fuel pressure gage on the carb body that is showing around 60 PSI during idle. It starts right up and revved fine but as I drove it around the neighborhood (1/4 mile) it started acting like it was fuel starving. I was getting yellow and red AFR/AF warnings on the hand held screen. It...

    Holly Sniper 1 Issue

I have a 4/72 FJ40 that now has a 5.7 SBC engine with a Holley Sniper 1. I have also included a picture of the fuel original tank. The engine starts and idles fine, but as soon as I drive the vehicle, it acts like its fuel starved. There is no fuel supply port on the bottom of the tank other...

One tiny wire providing ALL power to FJ40? Weird that.

WOW! Yes this is very helpful. I have been trying to come up with some way to keep the ammeter working, but after reading your post and others, this is just not a good idea. I might see about getting the ammeter changed to a volt meter. Are you keeping your Sniper screen in the cab permanently...

One tiny wire providing ALL power to FJ40? Weird that.

I ran into your post while searching FJ40 ammeters. I have a 4/72 FJ40 that I have done the 350 SBC/NV4500 conversion. I now have a single wire 150 AMP alternator and had the exact same questions as above. I have spent quite a bit of time studying the 72 wiring diagram and really don't have a...

Cruiser Corps Stainless Steel Brake lines

I saw no reviews so that made me suspicious. After market parts are often poor quality and this is not just in the landcruiser restoration world. Thank you for the response. You saved me a lot of time , $$$ and aggrevation.

    Builds "Scout" the 1977 FJ40

Not nesessary to measure but thanks. This is what mine look like. I don't like lifting vehicles in general. It creates a litney of problems. I am going to go back to close to the original stance. I just have not decided on which shackles and I will probably get new springs too.

Cruiser Corps Stainless Steel Brake lines

Does anyone have experience with Cruiser Corps stainlees steel hard brakeline kit? I'm talking about quality and fit. My 72 FJ40 will be driven in the snow so I was considering upgrading to stainlees over steel. Here the info from Cruiser Corps site: BRAKE LINES - FJ40 1971-1975 No reviews...

I really like the stance of your FJ40. Mine is lifted 2.5" with monster shackles and it looks RIDICULOUS! What shackles do you have?

Parting Out PARTING OUT 72 F ENGINE, 3 SPEED TRANSMISSION, TRANSFER CASE, ASSESSORIES

I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am going to put an SBC V8. I SWORE I WOULD NEVER DO THIS TO MY BABY!! But I went through every mental machination possible from Toyota engines, to an OM617 and other diesels. I was really leaning toward a turbo diesel. What made the decision for me is that...

    Parting out 72 FJ40 F engine

No wind taken from my sails. Thank you for your input. It's pretty much what I expected. Really was hoping to help out a fellow cruser head who might need these parts (pistons, crank etc.). I would be glad to give the engine away if someone needs it. I probably will wait a few more days and then...

    Parting out 72 FJ40 F engine

This is not an add but a question. I have placed a classified add in the "PARTING OUT" section on IH8MUD offering parts from my F engine that I am replacing. Mostparts are like new (Long sad story I won't bore you with). I have views but no Inquiries. I wanted to make these parts available to...

Parting Out  PARTING OUT 72 F ENGINE, 3 SPEED TRANSMISSION, TRANSFER CASE, ASSESSORIES

Parting out 72 F engine, transmission, transfer case, and all engine accessories. Previous owner had an affidavit included with paperwork that stated the vehicle had 50,000 original miles. It appears the head gasket blew for the previous owner, they replaced it, I bought it and it blew the head...

SOLD CO - SBC to NV4500 Bellhousing, Centerforce Clutch, NV4500, 4 Speed T-Case. 1600 Miles

Hi DangerNoodle from Landi72. Jim Sickles turned me onto your NV4500 trans for sale. Is it still for sale? If No read no farther. If yes: I have a 72 FJ40 with a dead 1F engine and the stock 3Speed transmission and transfer case. I am putting together parts and pieces to put a SBC 350 TBI...

    Another sad head gasket story

It ran poorly when I got it and continued to get worse over time. Hard or impoosible to start when cold, irratic idle, lack of power. then it started to spew a black sludge out the tail pipe. A leak down test confirmed a blown head gasket as did the bubling in the radiator. When I took the head...
