I don't want a rust bucket.
Just looking for a driver to be used fairly regularly around my neighborhood.
Ideally inline 6 and not a column shift.
Am I being dumb not considering SBC?
I don't need a top but it would be nice to have.

I currently own a 100 series Land cruiser with over 250k miles.
One of the main reasons I purchased the vehicle was because it was bullet proof.
I have always come from camp KISS.
I want my next purchase to get to 250k with as little headache as I have had with my prior purchases.
Do all the...
I currently have a 100 series, that 4.7 is crazy reliable!
I have been reading researching a lot on the new toyota
v8s some of them have been having cam tower leaks on the 5.7.
is this issue showing up on the 4.6s?
it is not a cheap or easy fix!.
Would really like to get into a 460 but am...
Has anyone put in junkyard seats into the 100 series yet?
my hundy has seen well over 200k on her.
bolsters are shot. i know i can recover them.
I was wondering if any later model seats would just drop in .
Thinking of making the switch from a 2000 LC to a gx 470/460.
Love our 100 series just dont need that big of car anymore..
And i Like the way gx's look.
does a comparably equipped gx get better mpg?
to VVTI or not, reliability issues with non vvti vs vvti?
So after rain started to get a little bit of moisture falling on my head when I turned or stopped.
Nothing crazy couple of drops.
Reached up above in the side of the track where the sun shade slides and there is moisture.
Where should I start looking.
I have a 2000 land cruiser
With 230k plus miles non vvti
If u had to choose and planned on keeping the car awhile
Is the extra power with the potential issues of more moving parts(vvti) worth it?
I would be doing most of the mainetance
these questions are in reference to pre vvti gx 470's and 100 series..
I remember reading that a 100 series v8 is slightly different then a tundra v8.
I was just trying to confirm whether or not the V8 on the gx470 was made at the same plant as our 100 series. Our V8's have been bullet proof...
So started my timing belt replacement today and am stuck.
Trying to take off thermostat housing/ water inlet.
It moves leaft and right with a whack of rubber mallet.
But can not remove from engine?
Looks like there is fipg around inlet area and on base.
Seen a couple of these break on some...
So i noticed a small puddle of oil under the engine on the passenger side only.
I opened the hood to discover a thin film of oil on passenger side components.
I Have not had a chance to further investigate, i just noticed it.
Any ideas.... i have 220k on her.
Are there Many Sac area mudders out here in Sac town area?
lots of 100 series owners out here in my area of Folsom/EDH, not sure if there are any mudders?
So my wife had been having issues turning the lock on the ignition.
Insert key to start car and the key cylinder would not turn.
This has happened intermittently for about a year.
I have tried dry lubricants(graphite), new keys etc. They would only work temporarily.
Finally went to dealership...

I am currently trying to sell them BNIB on the classifieds.
I want to fix the ticking underhood, what other options do I have for CARB legal headers?

I am currently looking at gx470s. Here are a few questions I have for you all.
1. cracked dashboards, is this a common issue?
2. 2003-2004 or 2005 or newer.... reason I ask is, is the VVTi going to be...
I have a 2000 LC thinking of purchasing newer vehicle.
Is there any evidence that a pre vvti motor will have less issues then a VVTI engine. We all have heard the accolades about 4.7 durability, I am concerned if I go with a newer V8 with VVTi that the added complexity will lead to decreased...
