Maybe I can hear it?
I had the EGR port make a rattling squeak when it was loose and the gasket blown out. Would get very loud while under load. Horrible noise.
It sure was a lesson for me. PO was sure it was the solution for every problem, I found it everywhere. I probably don't want to know what the oil pan looks like! o_O
Oh just since you aren't gonna need the fittings on the body lines. I replaced the engine fuel line that has a compression fitting, so it had to be a match to OE.
Just in case, Yes 5/16 is available. And I can confirm that a genuine Toyota "olive" and "nut" compression fitting works with 5/16 steel brake line.so I take that as a sign that it's the right size, metric or not. Nicopp may have slightly different dimensions though, but you won't care for the...
Generally you won't get the rocker assy with head. So you will use yours. Important to keep them all in order because they have worn together now. Using new or different parts will initiate wear again. For instance when I got the new valves in the head, there was wear apparent there for a while...
I'm gonna guess they pass into a rubber hose at both ends so no flares? Maybe if you wanted to get fancy you could do a bubble flare as kind of a barb. The older LC fuel lines had a compression fittings in some places, but I don't think the 60 does (except at carb). Could be wrong though.
Ouch that looks like a big crack. If you're not in a big hurry we could maybe work out some kind of head relay to get that head from Helena to CDA. Also I would let Paul take the head to his machine shop if possible. They do a great job on these, having done so many for him.
Yes different style will probably be required unless you are hell bent on a restoration. One wire is I think that is the ground for the fuel cut solenoid. Stub should be close by?
Well that really sucks.
But it's a familiar story around here...they seem prone to it. You might look around and see if you can find a good head to rebuild?
@3_puppies?
Maybe not worth the trouble if the engine was getting tired and needing an overhaul though?
Just did front brakes this past weekend, posted a couple pics in the "what did you do wit your 60" thread. If you follow the FSM you won't go wrong. If you get stuck I took a bunch of pictures so would be happy to help.
hey man, looks like fun...I'm just over the hill near Missoula. Interior looks amazing!
That thing on the block is a block heater...just needs a new cord, it'll pull out of the socket just like a power plug. Oil sender is on the other side, down by the filter on the oil cooler.
Have no idea...

Crushed the hard line at some point this winter, so had my first crack at flaring. Practiced a bunch, went well, no leaks (yet).
NiCopp pretty nice to work with.
Haven't been able to take it out for a good test drive yet, just a quick round the...
When Axle drops, it swings in slightly, forcing shackle slightly \=\ or /=/ hence bushing wear that you see. Best guess.
I bet that accounts for a lot of your waywardness. I thought I could feel my cruiser's body shift from side to side in turns, and I chalked it up to shot spring...
