Broken front axle (1 Viewer)

I'm posting for a friend who has a 2017 TRD Pro . He is on a trip and has a broken front CV axle . It's clicking as he drives.
He plans on continuing his 1,000 mile trip but is not sure if it is OK to do so without causing anymore damage. Thanks in advance for your expert advice.

How does he know it's the axle? The boot ripped? Broken and ruined are different

He got it replaced and found out the TRD Tundra needs the lifted CV axle part number not the standard one. His truck is stock.
