nothing revolutionary here. Not sure how old the radiator was, I found out it was probably out of a corolla just based on the radiator cap. At any rate, it started leaking around the seam.
Not sure what the future is for the truck and priorities tied up elsewhere, I embarrassingly went with the $55 Amazon special. Surprisingly, the quality seemed up to par with anything I’ve seen and probably better than what was on it.

The new one is a little taller

The tank is a little wider and the cap is now positioned correctly (the old one rubbed on the intake ). I did have to make a new hose for the overflow because now it was farther away.

Pulled the oil cooler from the old tank (turning in the core for recycling). I thought this was interesting - never saw one like this

Nothing to be too ashamed about there. A $55 radiator can last as long as a $500 one if circumstances are there. Especially if the future is “uncertain” for the truck!

I also bought a new radiator for my '83 4x4 from Amazon. The price was a tiny bit more (buck & a quarter) than Rock Auto for the exact same radiator, but I already have Amazon Prime, so NO shipping costs like Rock Auto would have charged. Almost identical to the old one (from Thailand) that had sprung a leak. Super-easy install with zero problems/issues.
