Ok guys and gals. I figured since we hijacked the hell out of Ryan's thread we should start a gun thread. We need a place to talk about any and all things gun related. Hunting, shooting sports, concealed carry....whatever you want. If you are looking for advice or just want to post up some gun porn then have at it. Enjoy.

I'm going to the gun show this weekend. Looking to buy my father n law a model 14 smith and wesson and 38 revolver. he had one in vietnam and think he will enjoy it. Is 70 b day is comming up.
. Yea, a bunch of people who live in DC have guns. No one said they are registered or legal. My guns live in Raleigh with my parents in my childhood room Have fun at that gun show though.
should we make an official ONSC Patatoe gun? The best propellant is Brut... smells good and works great. Another fun thing to do is to breal a glow stick and dump the contents on the potatoe and shoot it at night! kids and adam love it!
propane from a torch works really well too. Oranges make a great projectile as well. We made really scaled down ones when we were little and would stuff a couple grapes in there to make a hand held shotgun. 00 grape shot baby.
As a dumb kid, we used tennis balls filled with nitro-methane fuel (gas from our remote control cars), you could handle the balls when on fire, as long as it wasn't for too long...
Any Glock in my book is a good choice. I absolutely love my G23. Got to lay hands on a G36 today and was uber impressed. That single stack little beauty felt right at home. Also got to check out the Remington R1 1911. It had an amazing feel to it.

I'd love to get a G23. I think that's next on my Glock list. Once I get used to shooting my 9mm, I'll be ready to step up to something with a little more thump, like the G23.
Currently, I have a G17 (4th Gen) for home defense and target shooting, and a Ruger LCP with Lasermax for pocket carry. I'm looking to possibly add a 12 gauge pump (Mossberg 500 / Remington 870) for home protection.
I just got my CCP about 2 weeks ago. Admittedly, I do have very limited shooting experience. I would love to get out and shoot more. Anybody know any decent, inexpensive places to shoot in the Durham area? The only places I've been to around here are Handgunners in Burlington and Shooters in Rocky Mount. I took the CCP class from Caldwell Concealed Carry in Durham.

Yeah it's a love/hate with most people. I looked at the Sig's but they just didn't feel right for me. I didn't really care for the full size Glocks because they just didn't feel right in my hand.

I'll bring my G23 to the meet and Greet and you can give it a test drive if you like. I love that thing. Thinking about a G19/G26 for Stacy at some point. The thing I love about the G23 is the versatility. You can install the 357 sig barrel and now you've got a 357 sig. the mags are the same. You can put in a 9mm barrel and get a couple 9mm mags and tada...rocking a 9.
yeah, they have a few nice ones on the CMP site, but the one that IBA has was never fired, un-issued, pretty much brand "new". I do need to renew my membership with the local CMP affiliated club so I can pick up a Tanker Garand one of these days
IBA is also building me an M40A1 that will be done in late February. It will be the tits
