The stock I have on the rifle they are building was a USMC takeoff stock that McMillan had with the Model 70 floor plate .

Yeah it's a love/hate with most people. I looked at the Sig's but they just didn't feel right for me. I didn't really care for the full size Glocks because they just didn't feel right in my hand.

I'll bring my G23 to the meet and Greet and you can give it a test drive if you like. I love that thing. Thinking about a G19/G26 for Stacy at some point. The thing I love about the G23 is the versatility. You can install the 357 sig barrel and now you've got a 357 sig. the mags are the same. You can put in a 9mm barrel and get a couple 9mm mags and tada...rocking a 9.

Have you tried the 4th Gen Glocks? I tried a 3rd Gen, and it didn't fit my hand at all, due to my small hands. The 4th Gen fits MUCH better.

I'd love to shoot your G23. Of course, if I do it'll probably speed up my decision to buy one, which the wife may not like! :)

nice thing about the Gen 4's is the extra backstraps. when I got mine they had the Gen 3's almost $100 cheaper.

I was mentioning to a friend of mine, who is a police officer, about all the gunaholics in this club and he said he has a Sig P226, 40 cal he would like to sell. He requires the buyer to have a gun permit. If anyone is interested, let me know. I asked him what he wanted for it and he said a dealer said it was worth $ 600. He would probably take less.
Also, I need recommendations on setting up the gun range at the meet & greet. I plan on using a mountain as the backstop, but what do I put the targets on? I do have pallets but not sure if they would last very long. Ideas please!

Put em on the rocks! It makes it more interesting.

I have some cardboard signs we can use. I will bring em with me.

Pallets should work pretty well. I'll bring some cardboard and targets too.

trying to decide b/w these two, any advice?

i mean on one hand I do like lazers and holographs but on the other hand one million candlpower, a fork AND a key chain. Hmmmmmm?

The stuff most of us carried on out M-4's made them weigh more than a M249 SAW. But we had all sorts of fun do dad's on them like a silencer and stuff.

Yeah, you can't pistol whip somebody correctly with tupperware:grinpimp:

No so My friend...... A buddy of mine was wrestling with a guy who threw down a gun while he was running from us while I covered him. Jack asses hand ended up on My buddy's gun that was still holster. I game home a love tap "muzzle punch" and knocked him out. Not recommended but it was slot better than having to shoot him with a three year ten feet away.

I know what you mean about Glocks though. I love a 1911. A classic "man's " gun. Also love My Springfield XD. Feels similar to a 1911 in your hand, modern safety features, and a much smoother trigger than a Glock. Just have to get used to a longer trigger reset If you've been shooting a glock much.

Depending on what you have in mind the G27 is a great option If you are thinking about a G23. Seems like a few people on here have mentioned looking at them. I have carried a G27 for years. Used to carry it on My ankle when I carried a G22 as a duty gun. Was small enough for ankle and concealment and can use G22 or G23 magazines. Several company's make an adaptor that slides on or you can shot them "as is".

I'm not a big Glock fan, but the G27 fills a niche for certain instances when I carry. That and my old school Chief's Special Model 60 snubbie in a pocket holster.:D

I feel the 1911 love, we had custom MKIV Series 80s with a SureFire 610R for our back-up weapon for CQB. It was a nice pistola. I recently aquired a Kimber Custom Eclipse II, that is a nice shooter except for the crappy target sights that Kimber insists on installing on their gubs. The slide will be going off to Heinie for their Straight 8 rear night sight in a few weeks.:hhmm:

I'd love to get a G23. I think that's next on my Glock list. Once I get used to shooting my 9mm, I'll be ready to step up to something with a little more thump, like the G23.
hmmm. how soon will you be in the market? Something I have been wanting for a looooong time from a friend just became available and I might be looking to sell.

Alaskan ?

Hadn't really thought of doing it too soon, lest I be seen as a "rapid gun accumulator" by a wife that has been somewhat tolerant of my first 2 purchases. That being said, if I was to come across one at a ridiculous price that I just loved shooting, it might be difficult to turn down. :D

Allen, you could always buy it "for" her :D

couple ghosts:
Ithaca Arms deerslayer -12ga pump
Colt 1911 model 70 (wish i'd never sold)
ruger LCP

Couple of my favorites:
Barnes Precision CQB 5.56 in the safe stand
HK usp-c .45 acp for the nightstand
sig p238 .380 for the waistband

wish list:
oh where to start, or more accurately where to stop ;)
as always decisions swayed by great deals
2-3'' Revolver next... S&W or Ruger (lcr or sp-101 without the fugly grips) in .357 most likely
Remington 870 police trade in although the 1100/1187 is tempting
Sig220
Kiimber procarry II (or dan wesson custom if I win the lottery) just want my 1911 back
and an AKM and .308 bolt action would seem to round out the collection nicely
