So, Darin (Kryzabncanuck) has offered up his nice warm heated garage for us to get our rigs in tip top shape, since it's all our New Year's Resolutions!

Buy your parts, bring your tools, and we'll try and tackle as many projects as possible.

Post up your needs and wants, and we'll see you in Fayetteville, NC come the New Year!

its a big one....

Need to put engine, tranny, tcase in 78 40. Is that too big of a job? Lots of little stuff to do...

Do you have the whole drivetrain together, or is it in pieces?

Next question would be are you hauling on a trailer the truck? If so we could very likely get it installed and have you tie up the loose ends at your home later.

one piece...

The engine, tranny and tcase are all in one giant (heavy piece). Evrything ran a few months ago when I bought. I wanted to change a few of the gaskets before it was installed. (oil pan, rear main seal etc) I also have another 2f, tranny and tcase I can use for parts if needed. The only thing I need to get are new motor mounts. I will see if Alex can come by and look to see if im missing anything.

I can load 40 and all parts on trailer and take it anywhere that someone would help me. :)

This would be awesome if the club members could help me with this. I was a motor t mech in the Marine Corps, but unfornately I'm not mechanicly inclined. This would save me a ton of money and I would be great to work on my vehicle with a bunch of guys who now what they are doing.

I will bring beer and any other snacks requested.

Just let me know what ya think

Guess i should start posting on this seeing as it is at my place.

Got room to be able to work on atleast 6 vehicles right now in there. Understand though that is with them sitting put. I have a vehicle lift / engine hoist / air power / welders / and all sorts of tools.

Not too much room in house for guests though. Maybe one or two overnight inside. Plenty of room to park / camp on property though.

dirt

This shop sounds great! Thank you for offering the space to work on vehicles. I hope all works out and we can get my engine tranny and t case installed. He
ll if that happens I will sleep in the dirt!!!

Darin I was hoping you'd chime in, I didn't want to speak for you! Thanks again for donating your time and space for fellow ONSC'ers!

Agreed! Thanks Darin. This should be fun.

Darin,

Please speak up on any repairs or such you would PREFER not take place...it is your place so you have that option. It's a brand new garage but some are more picky than others so be sure to speak up if you feel you need too.

With that said everyone needs to post up with sufficient time to make sure darin is okay with everything

Right now it looks like the following:
-Possible Engine Tranny Swap

Possible rear bumper install...Darin's old one on my 62. I'm totally fine with this being a lower priority.

Darin, is there anything we can help YOU with?

I can always use help around here. Trying to build my 60 right now, but i am not in a hurry to get it done. So, with that being said i would rather focus ob other people projects right now that do not have anywhere , knowledge to work on them.

Greg, really not too much that can hurt this place. Rebuilding 60 i it right now and have spilled anything / everything on the floor. Only thing that goes thru the coating so far has been Gas. Everything else comes right up with kitty litter. Thamks for looking out for me though.

I will be around to lend some help in the shop and supply some additional tools to the party. Might have all the parts to install new gears and lockers by then but my finances are up in the air and I have to prioritize funds. I am available to haul anyones rig etc. as I will have a new trailer soon. So anyone who needs a hand with transport let me know. Anyone have 4:88s for an 88 fj62? My 4:11s will be available after the swap too.

My request(s) -

Cut-n-Turn front axles for sprung over 40.

More stuff if time allows - like swapping coarse to fine spline pinions, front ARB locker and rear lunchbox locker (rear locker least of the proposed plans).

That's it! - (if you want to call it a small list :p)

Thanks,
Jon

Well my list is to put Power steering on the 40, but I need to get everything but the box right now...

So during the course of the day I found myself a new workshop in Southern Pines. Therefore my budget just got re adjusted and I won't be installing gears until later in the spring. Gotta get the shop up and running first. Anyhow, I'm still available to transport vehicles and look forward to helping out whomever I can.

this sounds fun and educational.....

This is going to be a fun weekend! :D

Hey Daren,
Would this be a good time to get those thirds from you? If so I would love to swap out thirds on my 40.
If its not in the cards I can always find other thirds and just need help swapping the rear out.
Third option is I can try to find 4.11 ring and piinion and have you help me with that.
I can bring my neighbor that is intrested in joining club. He owns a 77 fj40.
Of course I am more than willing to lend a hand with any other projects as well.

Should be fun and my last event before I move to Florida.
