Timing is perfect now after rebuilding the engine. I believe it had something to do with the timing chain but I can't say for sure. Nothing really stood out as grossly wrong when I tore it apart.

When i first got it I planned on adding AC, power steering and disc brakes and upgrading to a 4 speed. The more I drove it though I liked its roughness and the desire to keep it as original as possible took over.
