Great work Meshal. I looked on and off for a '96 or '97 model in that color for 4 years. Most had 500k kilometers and were pretty beat up. The interior on that one looks really nice. Great find. I finally found a '97 with around 60k...
The chassis is being assembled with zinc screws and new parts.

lol I was completely off base on that comment. Was just researching coating options. Going to powder coat first and then coat the inside of the tray. I wonder how that plasti-dip spray would work? I also need a plastic coating for a lot of...
Yes, of course I want metric threads. I think that 45 degree flare is called an SAE Flare. At least according to a bunch of the 10mm x 1.0 fittings I have looked at it is.

Nice looking caliper btw...
I believe 45° flare is 45° flare regardless of the threads on the fitting itself..
You want metric threads.
I'm out in my shop typing replies on a miniature keyboard on my cell phone so coherent replies are almost impossible for me...
No, the Toyota OEM fittings have a non-threaded lead. Just to confirm, aren't we looking for 10mm x 1.0 SAE inverted flare fittings? Your SAE comment seems to imply that they aren't SAE. Again, I'm just trying to make sure I'm looking for the...
Ok, I got out my brake fitting box. :hillbilly: Here's what I have. Top one 15mm, middle one 17mm and bottom 10mm. I want to take back what I said about the longer ones. That's what I used on all of mine, the 17mm with threads to the end. :meh:
Okay I'm not nearly as organized as you are and my brake fitting drawer is a pile of random brake fittings.
Point to the one that you would like me to measure and I will get you a dimension.
No, I was talking about the ones you referenced earlier. Amazon.com: The Stop Shop Stainless Steel Metric Brake Line Invert Flare Fitting for 3/16" Tube. 10 x 1 mm (Pack of 10) : Automotive -...
I don't have any of these fittings if that's what you are looking for..

That was my impression as well but I went and measured them. Most had around 4mm of thread sticking out (out of 13mm). I found 1 that was a bit more, around 5mm, and 1 that was around 2mm (somewhere in the engine bay). The only installed ones...
Maybe I'm blind, my wife says I am often, but I don't see any 10mm-1.0 SAE nuts with a non-threaded lead. They are all fully threaded. That probably doesn't matter. :meh:
I'll try to remember later today to take a look, the important part for you is to measure the amount of thread on one of your existing fittings that sticks out past the caliper or wheel cylinder and note that, we really only care about the amount...
Like your guy says on his front page spec is .028” with a max of .031” wall thickness and it's harder than you think to get tubing that's in spec.
Also looks like a great place to buy from!
Definitely an option for tubing and fittings. They seem to have a bit of everything. So forgive my ignorance on this subject but we are looking for fittings that are 10mm x 1.0, SAE (45 degree inverted/double) flare with a non-threaded lead? I...
Stainless to stainless yes if you don't address it with something beforehand like a never-seez or lubricant, stainless to cast steel or brass like you'll be doing I would prefer the stainless over all my other choices..
Most of what I do is...
