4" Rough Country Lift - Tire Size Limit?

Not sure on the backspacing. I have 15 x 7 rims I believe. I've been a land rover guy for a long time. The only tire company I know that makes 35 x 10.5 x 15 is Simex Tires (based in the UK I believe). They have a mud terrain called the Extreme Trekker. The only person in the US that imports...

4" Rough Country Lift - Tire Size Limit?

Trying to figure out what the biggest tire you can go (without scrubbing) with using a 4" lift and uncut rear fenders on 15" rims? I'm guessing 33 x 12.5 x 15 but would 35 x 10.5 x 15 work? Anyone have pictures/suggestions? thanks!

    Need a Quick Answer! - 180F or 192F Thermostat?

Right in the middle of replacing the radiator with a 4 core rad. Was going to replace the thermostat with a new one. New one is 192 F thermostat. Old (but looks fairly new) thermostat is 180 F. Should I continue to use the 180 F or replace with the new 192 F? Will the 180 make that big of a...

Picture Request: Original Jerry Can Side Mounts

Well finally I get an answer to my thread. Seems this thread has been going everywhere except where it was originally suppose to go. Thanks for answering this for me. No one ever said it wasn't a factory option. So I figured since mine had the mounting bolts on both sides, that it came that way...

Please advise what size lift/tires are on the above pictured FJ40. Also advise when the 328 GTS will be up for sale. :)

    FJ40 as daily driver?

Heres my opinion: Cool cars get terrible gas mileage. Thats just the price you pay. Right of passage so to speak. If you're even remotely thinking of saving on gas mileage, go with an economy car...not a vintage 4x4. Otherwise, throw the thought of good gas mileage out the window...don't even...

Picture Request: Original Jerry Can Side Mounts

I started the thread just so I could see some pictures of how the Jerry cans were originally suppose to be mounted on the back rear fenders. Thats what this thread was about. I got some pics of the actual original brackets...but no pics of them mounted on the rear fenders....just the earlier...

Picture Request: Original Jerry Can Side Mounts

Weird. So the cans were mounted on the front quarter panel rather than the rear QP on the early FJs? My FJ has the 4 Jerry Can mounting bolts on both sides of the rear quarter panels. Kind of hard to see since they are body color. I plan on mounting my jerrys on the sides. Just trying to figure...

Picture Request: Original Jerry Can Side Mounts

Looking for pictures of what the original jerry cans mounted to the sides of the FJ40 looked like. I have the 4 original bolts on each rear quarter panel to mount a jerry can...but wondering what the original bracket would have looked like to hold the cans?

FJ40 Radiator Question: 3 row or 4 row?

Hah! Thanks! Yep I'm definitely new. I've always had my '71 Land Rover. Finally broke into the FJ40 scene so I'm learning. Radiator is leaking out so replacing with something better. I'll just go with the 4 core. Crossing my fingers that the fitment is the same. Engine is the gas 2F if I recall.
