Can confirm it makes a hella mess with the stock plug :wtf: I hadn't done the first oil change to change to the ValvoMax drain plug (I have Fumotos on my other vehicles...not sure which I like better). I ended up having to drop both the front and...
The bulk of the flow clears the skid system easily, it’s when flow slows down and it turns back and sticks to the oil pan then runs downward… that part ends up on top.
And I know everyone loves those EZ-drain systems but I just can’t be sure I...
I’ve got an intermittent assignment in Ireland for the next year or so. Has been running since March and I’ve been doing 10 days here, 10 days there ever since. I’ve been wanting to do a little exploring and camping in Ireland and the EU, so I...
Spent an hour and a half replacing a driver's side front wheel bearing assembly. I had an odd vibration and noise that would start around 47mph, turning to the left at speed took pressure off of the drivers side and the vibration and noise...
Went and played in the Beartooth mountains with the local group this weekend. Absolutely amazing scenery and a ton of fun seeing what a group of Toyotas can do
Thanks for the tip!
Without the cut up cup, does the oil drain onto the skid after the stock drain plug is removed?
I've always had a Fumoto valve, so I never tried an oil change with the the stock drain plug.
For anyone that has similar issues - Kaon had me grind all the powder coat out of the holes and some metal to get one of the recovery points to fit… which worked - but I had to have a dremel with the round sand wheels to get it done… tons of...
The ride is much better than the factory AVS shocks. Raised the front up about 2 inches, with 1 perch left to go up higher if I want. With the tires, which are a little bigger than the OEM Toyos, there is 12" of clearance under the front skid...
So far:
arb mt64 shocks
Trail hunter upper arms from the 4runner
Made billet rear lower control arms that use 200 series bushings
Toyo at3 275-70r18 E load tires
Lexus air compressor, yours should come with it
Wrapped it
I have scanned the...
Glad you got one! I really like mine.
My OT+ came with the all weather mats, front and second row only. I had to purchase the rear mat.
I was in the same mindset as you and wasn't going to modify it.. didn't last long...
Our 2025 GX Overtrail is on a boat headed over as we speak. I wanted Incognito, but the wife wanted her to go to Pearl White; in the end, she won out, lol. Excited to have one in the garage here in the next 4-7 weeks and I am glad that we waited...
I slide this thing up between the oil pan and skid where it's out of the way, loosen and remove the drain plug, then slide it across to make sure nothing drips onto the skid.
Full-speed drain, zero mess. The only thing I have to clean up is the...
Slowly working through some overdue maintenance and undoing a few mods. This past weekend I swapped in new front pads and rotors, did a full brake fluid exchange (pads were down to about 1mm!), and the big one — I set the AHC back to stock height...
Those are the only mods done? The tires should fit regardless of having the spacer or not as long as you're on stock offset wheels.
Any pics of where they are rubbing?
