Nothing wrong with it, I just noticed its non-USA. We have the 110v system for most things like that and 220v is for big stuff. Would be way better if we used 220v like the rest of the world so we can use double the amount of watts with the same...
lookup the wring diagram and test all the switches. Then apply power to the solinoid to see if it can unlock. test for power and ground to the module. If all checks out good take the cover off the shift interlock module. these electronics are...
turbine: 59mm/ 49mm
compressor: 69mm/50mm
looking up the part number on parts.cummins.com it says it's used on a 8.1L in china.
i bought mine from ebay china but benzforce has them now...
for me they did answer questions quickly but they did take a long time to build it for me maybe 4 months, it worked out for me though, I was never waiting for it as I had so much work to do on the build anyway. I've built several customer...
Still having transmission issues, it shifts fine for about 10 min then it suddenly shift only at high RPM. fault code for no rpm signal, Diesel rpm sensor signal is not compatible. it would be possible to amplify the rpm sensor signal and the...
They're arnt a bunch of modified Toyota diesels around here for me to compare it to but I got to say I think the holset he250 8cm and twinscroll manifold is a great match for these motors. Pretty much no lag at all, driving my truck and a stock...
I'm running a used one that looks just like it. not sure what toyota diesel it came from, working good for me. Just had to put a cupple rivnuts in. really you could get by without it I'm sure but there could be some weird situation where your...
I think it's a very cool swap and can see the appeal for many. I could see a lot of interest if you could do this legally in California with full emissions intact.
That said, I've been in the deep end of 80 series diesel swaps for over 15 years...
they can be super tight. use thicker/bigger washers on your bolts. tap on the forcing screw, and it might pop loose. If it doesn't then heat up the gear with a torch.
It's more than "touchy–feely".
The online "stores" have no idea what's in your truck. If you do, you're miles ahead of most people (and I know you're in that camp), but you're still empty handed when it comes to superseded parts that aren't in...
I've seen much worse with really good compression test results. i say try it out and see how it goes. the oil flush after you get it running is a great idea.
Quick WAG. Channel holding glass has slid on glass causing roller to extend beyond channel end. Fix: reposition glass in channel to position correctly so roller does not roll out at full extension.
Super clean looking cruiser!
Engine swap looks tidy too. I hope it achieves what you want it to
When you said duramax, my brain went to the GM 6.6l V8 Duramax diesel.
I had a lot of fun with my 1hd-t.
No way I would trade a 1hd-t for a 3.0...
if you can clean the joint out well enough, bead blast cabinet is best but you might be able to get away with a dremel. A good weld on there won't leak for a very long time if you use stainless wire.
Any cylinders that had water/coolant sitting in them for all this time will likely be severely corroded/eroded along with the engine bearings.
IMHO with a blown head gasket if you aren't going to rebuild it immediately it's important to get all...
