Vaccum leak!
Air is being sucked into the fuel line.
Use a section of clear hose. Start from the IP to fuel filter and work your way towards the tank.
Air bubbles are the clue. No air bubbles and you want a firm primer especially after an...
If it is 15-20 min you probably have a airleak in your fuel lines . Shouldn’t take more then 30 seconds on a cold start for the idle to smooth out and the smoke to disappear
I decided to tack on the body mounts and weld the pieces together.
Here are some pictures of the mounts mocked up.
Still parts gathering as l go, now have almost everything including doors , rear wall and steel roof, already have a front screen...
Hey Mud -
I just picked up a new project.
The truck started life as an 1986 HJ61 in NZ. It received a 1HD-T + 4speed auto swap before making the journey over to the US in the late 00's. A tree fell on it and the PO did a body swap with an '89...
I would start with the glow plugs system.
Make sure that you have power to the busbar when the key is turned on, and as the system powers down.
If yes to the busbar, then test the glow plugs. If one is bad change them all.

No problems at all mixing 154W40's from different brands.
The 1HZ would be fine with olive oil in the crankcase. It's a low stress application with no special needs.
If it runs while priming, then suspect the fuel supply.
Vaccum leaks are hard to find, sometimes you can hear the squeak of a vacuum leak if your surroundings are quiet.
Change hoses and check clamps.
Also check the EDIC, even disconnect the...
I feel your pain, but hopefully they could recommend someone.
4wheelauto in Edmonton has always been good to me.
What are your driving engine wise, and what is the issue.
I was dreading having to pull the engine from this truck, but it actually ended up being way easier than I imagined. Although you need to pull it out through the passenger door, everything is easily accessible and very straightforward. A 2 ton...
I did have an ACSD device grenade over time.
Unfortunately we were traveling.
Limped it home 4 hours, but only by giving her fuel because at idle she would stall.
The screen under the solenoid was full of metal shavings which obviously cut back...
