I just put Doetsch DT 8000 Prerunners shocks with 4 inch Downey lift - unfortunately i was only able to drive it a little bit around the block but it was an improvement over KYB i had on before. Jim from Downey recommended either them or Bilsteins 5100 series and since Doetsch shocks are around...

Just got my DT8000 shocks today :) so now I can finish my 4 inch lift. pictures are coming.

Just finished installing 4 inch Downey springs in the back, will do front in next couple days. Still need to order shocks and replace brake lines, :D

Just finished repainting front bumper and replaced wheels with FJ60 wheels and 30 inch tires for now(thanks Seth!). Also waiting for spring pins so i can put Downey 4 inch list:cheers: (thanks Jim). Here is some pictures with new wheels, i will put up pictures with the lift as soon as parts come in.

What is backspacing in the wheel? Would they fit FJ40? if so i am interested. PM me when You have a chance.

Where did You find it? I am looking for same thing for my fj40.

Thanks Toyo FJ40, I already got ignition cylinder replacement from CCOT for around $35 and also I figured that my roll bar is a smittybuilt or something similar and it was put in by PO and so was the bullbar. Robert

Actually it was set up straight from the box, just bolted it on an poured some gas and started right up, i suspect it is running little rich since i have some black smoke coming out especially when cold but otherwise no problems. I run the rig just a little bit down the block since the old tires...

Ok guys little help here -just ordered set of 15x8 rockcrawlers series 52 with 3.5 backspacing and after reading some of the posts i am really confused would they fit my 1971 fj40 with 33x10.50x15 tires or will they rub?

I got the same with mine 71 Fj40 and PO claims it was dealer installed, it has marks where rest of the cage was welded to it - when i got it it was out of the rig. I also have bull bar for the front bumper - supposedly also dealer installed. PM for pictures if You like. Robert
