Probably both of those diaphragms provide timing advance when they get vacuum and can hold it. One, I've heard, is for High Altitude and the other is for every day. I forget which is which. When I got my big cap dizzy neither diaphragm held...

I do that. But with an earlier ('74) head and an earlier ('69) intake manifold on a 2F block and with OEM hardware. Sometimes a bolt might be easier but I just like studs & nuts better.

Last night we loaded the pig about 4 and drove to shingletown for pizza, then Sara and my land mate Elliott and I drove up to Lassen national park and we climbed to the peak just in time to see the sun set and we hiked back under the light of the...

Auburn LSD I wasn't happy with the way the supplied spacer fit. Lots of vertical space that left the button end of the axles only partially supported and more than double the end thrust allowable by Toyota. I had an old aftermarket spacer from...

I don't recall exactly how big those springs are right off the top of my head...do you have a pic of one? or about how big it needs to be? In the meantime, look inside retractable ball point pens for little springs

This helps already. The answer I wanted wasn’t the answer I needed. So busy worrying about OEM sender compatibility I completely ignored other sensible approaches… multiple senders to multiple gauges, for example. Aaand the light comes on. Maybe...

There's lots of holes in that block and oil filter housing to get readings from. Just my opinion, I'd run both. I'm sure with a pile of resistors and enough patience you could make the factory senders work with new gauges. I'd question the...

Probably not going to find one off the shelf. For oil pressure I insist on a mechanical gauge, electrical are notoriously slow to respond. You can plumb one in with a Tee and use your stock gauge as well. I've got 3 water temp gauges because...

An original 60042 would have had a large hexagonal fitting on the outer face of the vacuum advance diaphragm, with a similar brass fitting that threaded into it, and then a third, smaller fitting that threaded into that. The early 60061 dizzies...

Two possibilities. One is that the butterfly is rubbing against the air horn, in which case you would be able to see faint arcs on the inside of the air horn where it is rubbing. Sometimes this can be adjusted by loosening the two brass set...

And your ignition sounds like it's all new, fresh and clean. What is it timed at right now? I would imagine yours needs a bit more advance than the book calls for, especially without the vacuum advance?
