I think the tough thing, for me, was live attendance.
I don’t know where I am now much less at a scheduled time.
I do appreciate the knowledge you’ve (lean) dropped and would love to support you in whatever way I can.
Hope you do. I really enjoyed the episodes so far. Would be fun to hear some horror stories - "you won't believe what just rolled in" kind of stuff. You probably have one or two.
If it's misfiring on some cylinders more that others I'd be looking at compression or spark. You could have sticking valves or slightly burnt valves lowering running compression but not static compression. I'd run a cylinder leak down test...
I'm going back to running it through Youtube where I have a larger audience. I found a different podcast app that will let me Livestream but also have people join through a link like zoom. Hopefully that gets better "attendance" I set the...
confirmed with the wifey I can come lol.
Items requesting help with: reseat comeup winch that was apart to clock handle. Hoping it’s quick/easy but as I mentioned I’m struggling despite it looking like everything is aligned.
Other projects I...
I was getting ready to post the same thing. Crash and I are good for this weekend, but didn't know if folks were actually coming. If your planning on coming please post up what you're looking to do so we can make a game plan.
I'm going to give the podcast another try. I'm stilling trying to find a good time for the actual call in live portion. In the meantime, I set up a page where people can leave "voicemail questions". Voicemail link Then I can answer them on the...
I’d really love a hand reassembling my comeup winch. I took it apart a bit to clock the handle and a few attempts to get it back together have failed. There isn’t an obvious reason why it’s not reseating.
Joey made some fantastic products. I’m lucky to own many of them which will probably never be available again and regret that I was not able to get my hands on the universal rearview mirror adapter plate he used to sell. Never had a bad...
So, I thought I was cleared of any duties on the 23rd but apparently my wife signed me up to help some friends move. And Crash has a Soccer game and Comicon for his kid. Looks like the 23rd won't work after all.
8/23 at the OTRAMM shop. Starting time and other details TBD, but save the date of Saturday, 8/23, to assemble at this outstanding Land Cruiser-specializing Virginia shop with a mechanical wizard at the helm.
:)
While I was the first person ToyotaMatt banned/blocked, it was because he was taking advantage of the general ignorance people have of how the Toyota system works. This was over ten years ago.
I called him out on it. I got banned/blocked...
I let my Techstream sub lapse. The aftermarket tools do 99 percent of techstream so we only subscribe when we need to program computers. I have a key programmer. It's been hit and miss on Toyota keys but we can give it a shot. It seems to...
Update on the truck from the loose crank bolt video. We torqued the bolt to see how things would go, and several months later that engine is still humming along. The 1FZ really does take work to kill :)
The oil pump on these do not "go bad" without serious engine damage. A loose crank shaft bolt will starve the engine from oil and cause a loss of power steering. If the bolt is loose, you may have been starving the engine of oil causing all sorts...
I stopped in at OTRAMM on that Nashville trip.
Here is also a short from Ryan himself about the crankshaft bolt.
Punchline: New engine needed due to not torquing down the crankshaft bolt properly 🤦
