It was a whole summer of cleaning every single piece of the interior but Im used to it. Had to deal with mouse problems frequently when I worked at a dealership. I emailed the RMV and said it was originally bought without a title for parts...

Kernal wrote a very thorough reply. I will just add that pulling the steering wheel without disconnecting the battery will definitely trigger a permanent airbag light. The Factory Service Manual (FSM) is an important tool that we all use. My...

@BettyWhite : Can you describe what problems the vehicle is having ie: how does it run, drive, etc?? Why did you take it to a dealer? The Airbag lamp (SRS) can be reset with a high end scanner/diagnostic tool or there's a quickie method...

Honestly, I was not expecting the amount of mice, or evidence of, in my LX450 as I found. I just checked your thread. Very ambitious to put in a 2UZ and you got a steal buying that 97 and the axles. I am not sure how you got it on the road...

Thanks. It can be helpful to know. But, I have no idea what they mean by "FSD FUEL DAMPER ASSY"

Just came across this build. Found it funny to be a similar situation for my build. Looks like we are both in MA, tore the interior out due to mice, rebuilt HVAC box, similar rusty body spots and V8 swaps, except Im using a Toyota engine.

What year and model do you have? A number of engines were available on the 80 series. I suppose they could be referring to the Mass Air Flow sensor, which can be cleaned.

This 83181-20040? If that is what they want to replace, then that quote is criminal. I mean, I think I could replace mine within 2 minutes....just saying.. $171.11 from PartSouq.com

I recently noticed my t-case was hitting the rear DeltaVS skid plate. Everything is covered in fluid film, which makes it look oily... This is with the engine moved 1.25" forward and 0.25" to the US passenger side. The 6L90e is 1.375" longer...

you definitely got the life out of that engine! I have a rebuild going now that can be done by next weekend, or have two known good used motors but like others have said would kinda be crazy to just toss a motor in even if it has good compression...
  • NeverFinis
You won't know the condition of the engine until you open it up, but with those miles it would make sense to do a complete rebuild. If money is short the cheapest route would be a known running used engine, lowest miles you can find, but most...

My angles earlier were referenced (zeroed) to the frame. If you can't trust your fully boxed frame to be straight (relative to the body) with the vehicle sitting on level ground, then you got bigger issues. I originally was going to use the...

One should consider that the oil pan needs to be level with a slope towards the drain. This is important if you have a flat but angled sump, like my 302-1 knockoff. It assumes a sloped engine. In other words, too much slope may cause oil draining...

You measure the transfer case output flange degree from vertical with the stock engine and transmission setup. Then when you install your gm stuff make sure that angle is not changed from stock. Also make sure the new setup is parallel to the...

Completed a nearly 500 mile 'shakedown' camping trip. Only issue was a transmission cooling line came off. Averaged around 10mpg with a/c on and power to spare. It got warm through the mountains but not too crazy

Yes, I mentioned it in my post as well. Tech had it as a 4Runner. Tech used magic to change caster. 🪄

They have the vehicle as a 1990 4Runner and the SAI specs are for the 4Runner, not an 80 sieres. 80 Series SAI should be 13° ±0.75° The numbers shown are close enough to spec. Still not enough toe-in is what I would guess. Take it back and...
