Got a little bit done.
New muffler comparison!
Secret
So secret sleeper.
I will tell you what! It’s better to be lucky than smart.
Cruzr Cult Dave
I am going to tack everything into place. Then take it all over to Dave’s father in law...
Well as I feared the fella cleaning the tank wasn’t physically capable of lifting and turning it. Went to pick it up and we had good chat to what I needed to do.
He installed plug in the very corner to help drain, which didn’t make sense until...
I know! ‘Sliders’, right? They’re really a cosmetic accessory more than anything. Maybe more useful in this incarnation as a step. Not like there’s much you’re in danger of slamming your rockers down on in the Dutch Bros drive thru.
I'm with @scrapdaddy here and think they look great..
Once you start approaching the $5,000 magic time and money budget it's going to be hard to take this rig on the Rubicon trail or any trail where body damage is guaranteed...
After replacing...
It wasn't always this easy to find a replacement radiator for a 55, so I've had mine re-cored a couple times. They make some very nice cores that fit and look OEM. I don't run a shroud, didn't need one until 2 Rubithons ago when I was getting...
Hey guys
I think the official SSS has been delayed until next year. Hard to get a real head count of 55s and people to commit to a weekend we can all make.
If someone wants to take the lead, go for it, but I can’t this year.

I’ll just pull out the handy tape measure Bob M sent me and see here….
Huh. Lookit there...
Started working on the front axle rebuild while watching paint dry on the second set of rear springs. The SST is fairly easy to use but, like a lot of these procedures, it takes a few minutes to fully understand what they are asking you to do...

Amber and red to match the Aussie taillight lenses, white for the back-ups. Made a socket cleaning tool, rinsed out the insides of all the lenses and used the special bulb grease.
It's attention to these...
What you mean! Every time I start a pig project I compare my goals with what guys do?! Am I being pooey? Have I tried hard enough? They did it. I can do it….at least try to!
That comparison makes me better then I was yesterday!!!
Keep on...
Flappy's work good and don't remove a lot of base material 🤔🧐😉👍. If ya metals good use Airplane stripper 💩 comes right off 🤔🧐😉. Just don't Smoke a Fatty whie using it 😘
I would be lying if I said I had a lot of experience with any of these products. I did shy away from the flap discs because I thought they might be too aggressive with the surface of the springs. I just wanted to remove the paint. I even tried...
Finally found some brake fittings that are very close to OEM. Had a couple of near misses before I found these. Slightly shorter unthreaded lead-in but otherwise dimensionally more or less the same. Not sure about the silver vs yellow plating...
