I removed my Fuel Filler Neck (1981 FJ40) and soaked it in White Vinegar in an attempt to neutralize rust.
The net result is now I have several rust holes near bottoms of neck. The rest looks pretty solid minus captured nuts on top.
Should I attempt to patch? If so, how?
Or should I replace?
The last few weeks my project derailed when I went chasing debris in my fuel tank.
I removed fuel tank sender and borrowed a scope to see what lies beneath. The images looked like the landscape on another planet. Big black flaky sh#t, some light surface rust etc. I’ve been watching YouTube...
