Just the harbor parking lot flooded in front of our house. I was up at higher ground for all of it, but I saw video of the harbor drained 8-10 ft deep with the boats laying on the ground, then water rushed back in. Luckily the flooding stopped...
Been figuring some things out and more disassemble. I am procrastinating the body work.....but that's gonna end soon.
Only picture worthy item is my solution for the upper radiator hose. I welded a bead at the ends of the tube to help the...
Found more paint locally and gave it a few more coats. I think it turned out pretty good. I like the contrast with the gray fuel tank and black hinges. The trunk lid and trunk jam will all be blue.
Powerwashed in and out. Did a comet wash. It just got more orange. You can see where i didnt do the door and only half the hood.
Clearly had a carb fire once.
Took a mallet and dolley to some of the more egregious dents.
Bought a set of rollers...
Looks like the truck was a light blue metallic. I hope the orange was for a company or municipalityand not a choice. Bed seams are shot. Toyota mini owners know the wisdom of the bed sides and bed floor having a common weld seam. Scored a 2nd...
Cleaned up the trunk. Painted the hinges and bits black. Then used some trunk splatter paint.....but ran out after 1 coat. Need to get more. I think it's gonna turn out good.
I don't want to step on any toes here.....but I have a set of these seals that I bought and never used. They are brand new in the envelope they were sent to me in. I'll let them go. Pm me if you're interested.
Again....not trying to cause...
I am glad you appreciate it so much. It took me 5 years from the time I was told about it till the time I saved it.
You're always welcome to come visit it's home land.
Between Rick D and i......I doubt there's many LVs left in Arizona.
Jack,
I will be forever in your debt! The effort you put in to dig up and then get wheels under so it could be transported was heroic! I am still amazed that it all happened. Right place and right time and right person happened so many times...
Today was overcast and not too hot. I cleaned, prepared, and vinyl died the back seat. It turned out pretty good and is way better than the orange.
In between coats, I cleaned up the rear interior panels. Sprayed them with some Armour All...
Bummer is this has been just sitting around. Since there's no AC, driving here in the summer is not so fun.
Anyways, I waited till the sun went down. Then I took it to the car wash then hit the cruise night.
Inventoried the interior pieces. The original kick panels were falling apart. Luckily had some new ones in the stash. They were blue, so I used the vinyl interior dye paint stuff and made them black. They turned out pretty good.
The window rail area is now painted black. Most of this area is covered by some stainless trim and weather strip. I think the black will look good and blend in with everything. The bottom part of the door jam will be blue.
Got the passenger side windows and mechanisms removed. What a pain in the ass.
Added the shock tower brace.....mostly so I can mount up the rest of the Sniper and ignition boxes and make sure it all fits.
Unless your compression is a bit higher than stock, I think the only thing running 91 octane will get you is maybe a little more timing.
Looking forward to seeing what you find out. Interesting to see the 15.5 target afr. I have mine set to 14.5...
Lower radiator hose is now trimmed and clamped in place. Fits good. I also picked up a oil filler / breather cap and new cap for the power steering reservoir.
