The stock Tokicos are ONLY for a stock height suspension. That could be most of your problem if you're running them on a lifted truck.

Nothing from the distributor runs to the starter. Download the Toyota FSM and EWD from the resources section. If the distributor wiring has been modified/molested then that's likely your issue. Spark is developed from the pick up coils inside...

Use a puller? Really, there are threaded holes in the balancer for this purpose. You'll need a plate/bar longer than the diameter of the pulleys and wide/thick enough to support the force required to remove it. 5-7.5–cm wide x 5-6–mm thick...

@nashqadri : can you describe the play in the shifter ie: does it rock side to side, is it sloppy front to back, or is there rotational movement if you twist the shifter handle? Already mentioned a few times above, definitely check the linkage...

Replace these two bushings (grommets in Toyo–speak): Be prepared: they'll set you back a cup of coffee's worth of green. There are two bushings on the shift lever rod (axle), too.

Sorta the same as my daughter, years of indifference and then she takes it to a climbing comp in Richmond, VA and is suddenly the coolest kid on the block. She owns it now.
