Trip to the NC-GA area over the 4th of July weekend. We went with two Cruisers, the '85 FJ60 (3FE swapped + H55F), and our '97 80 series. Boats were a 14' solo Mad River, a 16' Dagger Legend, and a cheap fishing kayak. We ran a section of the...

Installation of an 8274 on a TJM bumper on a Lexus LX450. When I bought the Cruiser it had a Superwinch X9, the winch worked sort of, not well. I had it off, cleaned all the contacts and wire ends, reinstalled and it still failed to function...

Posting the VIN here for future google searches: JT3HJ85J6V0172044 OP might not buy it, but someone else might do a VIN search on it. The "Experian AutoCheck Report" is 2 years old.

That is just a generic electric fan. I'd put the fan diameter in the title and remove 80 series as it would work with a lot of different series especially those with conversions. That will help you sell it more quickly.

Superwinch X9 is off the LX450. When I bought the Cruiser the winch worked sort of, not well. I had it off, cleaned all the contacts and wire ends, reinstalled and it still failed to function well. I need a winch I can depend on. The '77 FJ40...

Godwin replied to the thread U-bolt torque and thread length.
After you run them a few days, couple hundred miles or so, recheck the torque. You may need to do this 2-3 times before you reach the point where re-torquing remains tight.

Actually on second look, the difference in thread length is pretty close to the shim thickness. I’m going to carry on.

Drove to Chattanooga on one tank of gas, filled up for the return trip and mpg calculation was 12.9. Reasonable fuel mileage for a Land Cruiser.

^This. I'm running two 80 series rear axle bearings in gear oil. For both I initially filled the axle housing until full, then parked on a slope and allowed gear oil to run into the hub. Reoriented the 80 to do the same for the opposite side...

I just mounted up a new set of 255/85/16s on my FJ60. I think this is the 4th set of G003s that I've had and generally get ca. 35-40k out of them.

For the lower bolts I'll set the bolt in the socket that's attached to a long extension then use a light while aiming for the hole. I just take it slow and this has always worked.
