Damn another good one gone while us jokers are still around. Only met Tim a handful before we moved and most of our talk actually centered around beer. I helped him track down a few he was looking for. Funny enough we talked more through the...
I am an authorized dealer for them. I really like them. We sell a lot of the HP M3's, the 770's, 771's and now the new AT 811.s as well as the MT 772. I like the Bias Treps, but they dig and throw stuff. Takes some HP to get them turning...
Lydia and I are heartbroken about Tim. Stan is right, always had a smile on his face. Always willing to lend a hand and just an all around great guy. We were so blessed to have him in our club..
Tim, I hope you are riding cruisers in the...
No matter how much flushing i have done I still have casting material in the block. I put a coolant filter on and change it when I change the oil. There is always something in it when i cut it open. It amazes me.
I got the fenders welded out. I started to flap sand a little. Still a lot to go and I need to patch the pass fender. I do not like to weld sheet metal!
Lower radiator hose is now trimmed and clamped in place. Fits good. I also picked up a oil filler / breather cap and new cap for the power steering reservoir.
Pour one out my brothers and sisters. Another good friend of ours is driving land cruisers in the sky.
Tim Boyd was a good friend of mine, and of the club. Unfortunately he passed away yesterday after a long battle. He will be remembered...
Yeah, pretty sure welding on it without preheating or anything crushed the strength and made it brittle, but considering it was done on my tailgate from with the welder in an 81 pickup, it's pretty good. It was impressive to pull that out of the...
It does seem like quite a problem spot. It's the bottom of a curve, everything attaches there, has the fewest drainholes of any spot on the frame yet has tons of holes in the sides, and is right next to the rear wheels. Perfect for rot, worst to...
This is what the underside of the car looks like right now. Raptor lined the undercarriage and tinted it in the right colour. Brake lines are as good as in place. Fitted a brand new fuel tank with new straps as well, which was kind of a pain to...
Body is back on the frame, engine and gearbox too. Slowly building up the car again and trying to finish up one system at a time.
Next up is the power steering. Already have the parts, but need to have some connections pressed. Most of the stuff...
Was about time to make the engine look a little less... crusty.
Painted everything i possibly could. Will attach fuel lines and headers when it's back on the chassis.
New glow plugs, new sensors, new valve cover gasket, new filters, new belts...
Going to start uploading more progress. Have not been at it for a while due to work and house renovations.
Welding the holes in the underbody proved to be really difficult/impossible to do properly with all the rust still there.
Rented a...
Caught up with the present day!
The old undercoating does not come off easy.
The only way is with a heating gun (i use a full-on flamethrower) and a scraper. Afterwards many, many, many stripping discs in different sizes to be able to clean...
