You can get a stand alone from painless, but only for the early commonrail (03-04.5). We are building 06 motors, and will be modifying those painless harnesses to work with the 06 ecu’s. We wanted the late model motors so we can use EFI live to...
First time actually doing body, but tried to educate myself by watching YouTube. Probably a yr or so back I plugged the backing of the holes on the finders. Now sanded them with 80 grit and laid some fiberglass puddy.
I think pretty good for...
So I have been pretty quiet here for sometime now, but it’s now officially time to bring this thread back to life with Cummins swap 2.0
I decided about a year ago to not put the 6BT back in this 80, but rather to get my hands on a Commonrail 5.9...
When you let me drive your truck at a monthly meeting I remember saying I was surprised how lean it was during pulls. I'm not up on gas engine super/turbocharging but it seemed super lean to me.
Idk if it was lean enough to pop, but lean does...
Nope. Factory pulley but as @fourtrax pointed out, I was not monitoring AFR. I read numerous posts of folks with SC and no AFR gauge. @White Sheep did have an AFR gauge in his Cruiser.
Have you pulled your spark plugs #5/#6. any signs of pre-detonation or heat damage? I used a Mr T. head gasket, i did have the enricher module and extra injector setup on dipity to keep the AFR around 12 under boost (keep it a little...
Hate to read this Jon…..
On the bright side better to lose an engine than a truck ;)
Not sure whats at play. Put a 154k on mine with just a OE gasket at time of blower install at 179k on mine and didn't really see a difference from boosted to...
Dear journal. . .why can't things be easy with the LC? 🤔😅
Little more tinkering this afternoon. Hopefully fixed the power steering lines but probably not. Also noticed I had a little coolant leak at the steam port on the throttle body. Tighten...
Hope to see you Triangle guys at the monthly meeting. It looks like the Carolina Ale House will be our new home indefinitely. We have an ongoing monthly reservation. Post up if you can make it (*helps with the reservation).
May 1st @ 7:00pm...
They're not going to say much of anything I'd wager. What do the head gaskets look like after the symptoms you've described?
Aluminum heads can be hard to get right, and can have hidden cracks unless they're heated before checking. Maybe the...
Sorry to hear it Jon.
Who built your guy's engines? Three in the club using the lcengineering kit sounds to me more like a machine shop problem rather than that kit problem. Could be either (or both) though.
Laid down some vinyl flooring and velcro'd multiple areas to keep it from moving.
Cut a bit too much around the center console, but it's good enough for government. Time to start moving on to the body.
It was one hell of an event, if I do say so myself! A lot of people contributed to making this Relic Run the best so far, including all of the people who came from near and far to join us in celebrating these amazing old trucks. Thank you...
