Thanks all for the suggestions, links, and videos. I was away all weekend for the LandCruiser Round-Up, but now that I'm home again I will dig back into the tailgate.

Day 3 we packed up camp and drove the 250 miles home in front wheel drive. Long, slow drive. My wife drove separately from us, so she was our chase vehicle in case of any problems, but we made it home safe and sound. All in all it was another fun and successful Round-Up.

Read the thread. Thanks. When playing with it last night it seemed like when I messed with the circled parts it then worked temporarily. I'll spray with PB Blaster and button it up to drive to the Round Up, and then deal with it for real when I get back.

I do plan on redoing all the wiring connectors before closing the tailgate back up, because those bare wires scare me.

I’m planning on driving this the 12 hour round trip to the Round-Up on Friday, so I still have a day to fix, but would like to get it solved ASAP, so I don’t have to worry about it at last minute. At least it is up now, so if I can’t fix it before I’ll be ok.
