The help with the voltage regulator already saved our weeekend!
As for the shaft, we got back to camp around 3:00pm on Saturday, so we didn't lose much trail time, and without a lathe to balance the driveshaft I would be worried about vibrations on the 6 hour drive home. I will get a proper...
Thanks all for the suggestions, links, and videos. I was away all weekend for the LandCruiser Round-Up, but now that I'm home again I will dig back into the tailgate.
Day 3 we packed up camp and drove the 250 miles home in front wheel drive. Long, slow drive. My wife drove separately from us, so she was our chase vehicle in case of any problems, but we made it home safe and sound. All in all it was another fun and successful Round-Up.
Day 2. Let son drive, and I spotted. Made it through some semi-difficult spots to make sure he could handle driving the pig off-road with the 5 speed. He's driven my fj45 and fj40 at this park, but both of those have auto transmissions. He does great following the spotting directions. We...
My son and I drove the 55 to the Round up. 250 miles each way. We haven't driven it more than 50 miles since getting it 2.5 years ago, so this was a proper shake down. On the drive there we lost all charging about 50 miles from the event. Thought it was alternator, so found one in stock at a...
So I got home, and my son totally retired the tailgate. He hadn't tested it, but wanted to see if it worked. The back panel was still off, so I said I’d go down an inch, then back up. Went down. Wouldn’t go back up. i went to the back, since I knew what I played with yesterday and he went up...
Read the thread. Thanks.
When playing with it last night it seemed like when I messed with the circled parts it then worked temporarily. I'll spray with PB Blaster and button it up to drive to the Round Up, and then deal with it for real when I get back.
Yes, I posted that I will redo all previous owner connectors before I button it back up.
I am done for the evening because today is my 50th birthday, so we are going out to celebrate.
any suggestions on where to look for the safety switch, or any other ideas they will be appreciated. I will...
I’m planning on driving this the 12 hour round trip to the Round-Up on Friday, so I still have a day to fix, but would like to get it solved ASAP, so I don’t have to worry about it at last minute. At least it is up now, so if I can’t fix it before I’ll be ok.
Hi, long time. I am trying to fix my rear window. The gear is fine, the motor is fine. It stopped going down a while back, so I finally pulled the access panel off, and after doing that it went down 1/2 way, then slowed down. I tried going up, and it went 1/4 way up and stopped. Couldn’t get...
Not for the 55 since it has a new split-case in it. I did get the Orion all buttoned up in the 40, and have the T-case out of the 45 trying to decide which direction I want to go with that truck.
