I see them all over Etsy but don't want to pay shipping when I can have one cut local. It also appears that most are about 36" and I would like something a little bigger.
Unless you're dead set on OE or OEM, call these guys, in South Gate, CA. He's making them. Don't know why he doesn't list the FJ60 on the site, but he has them, or will make to your spex. He doesn't know Land Cruisers well, so best to talk to...
Redline sells a suspension kit that claims to put the axle back and centered in the wheel well. Not sure who makes their springs.

Finishing up the install. More pics to come. Happy with the Redline Kit, talked with them on the phone a couple times during to clarify a couple things.
Well alright progress is being made. used a 1/8” abs panel as a filler core. Six layers of chopped strand mat. I used Total boat epoxy. We will see how it turns out. my first fiberglass layup. Watch a lot of fishbumptv on youtube.
Thinking while tractor’n in the hot sun…..
@65swb45 Any interest in the two carriers (‘74 and ‘78) and the 4+ bolt on hitch i have in the classifieds as a trade for this...
I have never personally moved an axle back in the stock wheel well with stock springs. My work was much more invasive, but i did use the Ruffstuff perches and moved the axle back an extra inch with the 3 hole perches after i installed new...
Could certainly move back, yes.
These Dobinson's springs are a joke. They are terrible. There are several of us who ordered around the same time are pretty sure we got a bad batch (I actually know we did). They are soft as can be. Did I say they...
At this time, the only thing I'm looking for isn’t small - its the elusive 031 white late model vent window hard top to match the original paint on my ‘80. I was able to sell all of the green body parts off it so that is my next mission. All...
Be mindful, i just grabbed those as a visual reference for the multiple holes. Those exact units, the perches are designed to give another 2” wheelbase stretch due to the perch being offset relative to the axle tube.
This is a cool product, thanks for sharing.
I was just looking at my axle position in the wheel well thinking about the advantages of moving it back.
To be fair, I do have the janky Dobinsons springs, so once those get relegated to the scrap...
Looks like it could move back an inch? I thought the Dobs springs were gooder than the OME? Moving the axle on the spring may slightly help the ride, more leverage on the short side? Id redrill and shift back before spending money on springs...
I picked this up in thoughts of making a 45 or a cool trailer. Plans have changed. Bed floor has been replaced and shows signs of body work. Not sure I would use this for a restoration, but would work great for trailer or something else. It...
Just to answer your bike rack question on another platform. I have a QuikRstuff similar to 1up for our bikes but with several upgrades that 1up didn't do. It clears the spare tire. I've had several racks over the years trying to find the "one"...
This is good ammunition for anyone facing that problem…. I wonder why some seem to have this problem and others don’t. Can there be enough variation from year to year in frame mounts?
Simple solution with an extra hole..( don’t say it!)
