    HJ45 flatdeck restoration

I have my old alloy housing here in NZ. It is usable and now I have a cast iron one I won't be needing it.

FJ40 cup holders - Give me some feedback please

I bent the 90 corner first, then the 180 loop squishing in a vice then bent the loop around a large socket that was a bit smaller than the final size. Then I cut off the rest of the rod with a 1mm cut off disk in a grinder. It was all done by eye-ometer, no measurements were taken!

    Replicating Running Board dimples?

I cut up another board and aligned the humps on the patch with the original ones.

I made some wire ones that fit under the windshield wing nut. You would have to make your own.

    HJ45 flatdeck restoration

I've been not using the 45 as it white smokes on idle and is down on power. I had the injectors rebuilt but it did not get any better so I had a compression test done and it seems I have trouble with two inlet valves leaking. They probably were the ones open whilst is was sat idle for years. I...

Have you considered using a bolt in trans hump cover plate from a 55 or a later 47? I didn't have any of those so I made mine :) If you need just the housing I have the alloy one off mine sitting about.

    Brake Bleeding Problems!! Wisdome appreciated

Are there any check valves inside the middle of the master piston? It may have a residual check valve that has stuck shut with lack of use.

    Brake Bleeding Problems!! Wisdome appreciated

That's not right. The reservoir should be open to the master cylinder bore only with the piston fully retracted so fluid can return from the brakes back to the reservoir. Any amount of travel on the master piston should close off the port to the reservoir and force fluid to the wheels. It is...

    Fj40 diesel swap madness

That's an awesome 2wd conversion there! Did the v8 get in the way of the drives shaft?!

    Electrical Tester

I'll add a vote for the power probe 3, it can show voltage and you can load rest the grounds to 8 amps without breaking it and power up loads to quickly check if it's a wire or load fault. :)

    mind the gap

The sealing is done on the face of the tube against the bottom of the bore of the fitting so it is fine that there is spare threads showing. The caliper fittings seal with a copper washer on the shoulder of the fitting unlike this one so have a shorter thread.
