Can you share more pics of the interior, close ups of the usual areas where rust develops, and under the truck? Also, you say ~160K on the replacement engine...safe to assume you've got another 3F in there? And, just so you know, I'm asking because I am actively looking for an FJ62.

Is it currently in Charlotte or Denver? Just wondering since the post mentions Denver in the title.

CO, what rig in Texas? I'm not opposed to going that far or driving back on I-40. Done that drive from TN all the way to CA before and would to hit BBQ joints along the way, but I didn't see an FJ62 listing down that way. Did I miss something?

Well, I'm usually a cheap bastard, but it seems pretty clear that $2000 for an FJ62 means way too much rust or mileage for what its worth. Based on what I've been reading here and in other threads, I'm shooting for $3-5K and will hope for a bluebird along the way. That one up on Cape Cod looks...

This is the core of my question and your answer helps a ton. Rust is the one thing that really concerns me. I figure I can replace just about anything, one way or another, but I don't want to have a body that is just falling apart everywhere. I guess I could find one truck with great bones...

That is great advice, man. No way we're getting an 80. I think they look pretty cool, but the wife just isn't interested. She is cool with me spending money and time on this thing, but it has to have aesthetic appeal in her eyes and the 60s definitely score points there.
