I won a set of these in a raffle and they were very impressively made and stout as all hell.
I always carried them with me in the Tundra on my long crazy trips. Never ACTUALLY USED them for a situation, and gave them to guy that bought my...
I blew a bead on a trail last fall, front driver. It was a really awkward situation on a slope, driver side leaning downhill. Had to winch front end to a tree to avoid sliding downhill into more trees. Grabbed the ARB jack and placed on driver...
I get it and nothing makes me more nervous than seeing a lifted corner, no wheel, and nothing else under the truck to support it or at least catch it if it falls off the jack. A couple weeks ago I was watching a guy fixing a broken tie rod with...
To be fair, Hi-Lift and most of that style will say the same thing, they are for lifting, not supporting, hence another reason to use a bottle jack if you need to work around/under or remove a tire.
I'm excited to see what you come up with. I...
8. and to stop you guys complaining that I am using a weber... Guess what I found in the spare parts bin in the shed! I forgot I had this carb! I had planned on using it on the fj40 but abandoned it due to the fact that It had a fuel return and...
Just doing some piddly stuff while I am waiting on parts. I will list it out:
1. I got the pinion flange bolts loose on both the front and rear axle. The new flanges should be in today but I wont get to installing them untill tomorrow. I will...
This. It's nearly entirely impossible to solo use the airbag when inflating with exhaust. But with compressed air, it's a manageable, albeit slow, process. Also, be careful using CO2 with exhaust jacks, rapid inflation can lead to crazy cold...
I remember your agonizing decision process to decide whether to "manfangle" the OE PTO winch system when you got your ARB. I remember recommending making the PTO work as there are many advantages to having that in lieu of an electric winch. My...
I did get it to fire off and run but when I was working on the rear window I fried the pertronix unit in the dizzy. i ordered a few things to put points back in and I should be able to drive it within a few weeks! I am also waiting on some...
Ah yes, I don’t know why I was thinking the change came earlier. I should have looked at our site (and that price is from the old site :D). And you’re right, EPC shows it in some markets right til 1985.
It was 10/81 with the door switch was added in some markets including the US. Seen Middle East FJ40 up to 84 that didn't have the door/off/on switch. So old style was used until the end of product in some markets.
I didn't see the part @cruiseroutfit was on it only the part you were looking for help and thought I'd take a min to see what I could find since you always jump in and try to help others with part look-up.
Kurt and the boys always get it right...
No worries. They said 4 to 6 weeks on the backorder. And it's cheap....like less than $10 cheap. Frankly it would be wonderful if that was the only missing thing on my pig in a couple of months.
The metal clips are 1" wide and the overall...
Your spot on, the 2M lengths is the way they are offering it in the future. I actually prefer it over the more expensive spring specific kits. We’ve found it super easy to measure and then cut with sharp utility blade. Unfortunately they are back...
