That doesn’t look original. Mine was one piece and black. I replaced it with some 3/4” by 1/8” black weatherstrip. I had it on hand already because I used it for the shift plate cover on the transmission hump.
I did find this on ebay...
Good to do or at least have the hubs locked. The transfer case always has power going through it so the gears are always moving.
In cold country the hubs may be locked from fall to spring.
Got the T-Case side all buttoned up and mostly clean, hopefully can stab it back tonight or tomorrow.
Did come across something that is good food for thought though, engaging your 4 wheel drive on a regular basis is a a good idea to keep things...

Unscrew the zerk and the driveshaft will compress just fine. AND you will have exactly the right amount of grease inside the shaft when you’re done!

Got started in earnest on Monday and by last night had the t-case divorced from the transmission and stripped clean of all its bits and pieces. Cleaned some stuff and started a bit of reassembly.

Belts on, radiator back in its home.
Made some front clip adjustments. Put the hood on, still needs some alignment tweaks before I'll call it good.
Still work to do in the engine bay, but I'm too excited to not see how she's gonna look...
Realized that the new OEM fender replacement didnt have the OEM bracket for the coil so I used a spot weld remover attachment on the drill and pulled it off the old one. Stripped the old paint and a lil rust then rattle canned it. Ill attach it...
Progress update.
Assembled the bezel and lights. Mounted bib, fenders and apron. Laid hood on just to see how alignment is looking. Will be making adjustments as expected, but happy overall where things are lining up. I'll figure it out when...
