I drove over 1100 miles in my 1977 FJ40. Stopped in Idaho for one night and Colorado for the next. I went and got a tour of Proffitt's Resurrection Land Cruisers.

There’s a learning curve involved. If you have a spare Birfield and locking hub with you when you go out, the learning curve is less painful. Eventually you recognize that when the steering wheel tugs the wrong way, you don’t tug back!
