in my experience if you do one, the other dies like right away. prolly my weird experience, but as stated, its easy to just do them both, be done with it.
If you already bought a new slave, I’d recommend putting it on. It takes about 10 minutes to install, and you can even do it yourself. You will be kicking yourself down the road if that salvaged unit craps the bed in the middle of nowhere.

For the lock cylinders, any decent locksmith should be able to rekey your existing lock cylinders to work with your main key. Or you can order a fresh set. Likely the key is so worn you could start it with a flathead screwdriver.
On a selfish note, I'd like an FZJ75 pickup vehicle keychain. I dig them and helps me find the right keys if I have a picture of them on the keychain. :rofl:

the Heater valve was broken off and the hoses plugged on either end, I was hopeful it was just the valve, but my gut told me something's up with the heater core. so....onto the heater valve replacement and see what happens.

the Dorkel was just drilled into the fender with sheet metal screws.

the wiring was quite corroded and dropped into the bowels of the body. what I thought was a 15min. fix was not. :-)
