I've thought about this as well. I've seen the hitch cover cutouts for the 570s like posted above, but have yet to see one for the 600/700. I was looking at my hitch cover, and if you look on the inside, there is a ridge around where the hitch...
Alright, let me share my personal take on the Lc300 after +2 years of ownership. I'll only address my rants but also the workaround the issues for general benefit.
Comfort & Usability
Ventilated seats: fan noise is loud and distracting...
I was chatting with Slee at Overland Expo (Amory and Christo) and I looked all around their Honey Badger build.
-Sliders are frame-mounted. In fact, they did something pretty cool where they built effectively a steel sleeve that goes over the...
OP, I think you need to drive it and see if the hybrid engagement/disengagement bothers you. The ICE POP sound is a little cringy to me. Even 7300 miles in, I notice it every time.
The powertrain, generally, is smooth. The transmission is...
Rattle/light tapping sounds coming from headliner just in front of sunroof. Anyone else have this issue or a fix? It sounds like it's coming from under the interior lights/sunglasses tray area kind of. Its a faint tapping sound but annoys me...
Figured I’d start a LX600/700 thread for us with issues with the new platform. I guess I’ll go first.
2023 LX600, My rear hatch is starting to experience intermittent issues with closing. I hit the hatch button, beeps once like it’s going to...
I was afraid of that. I was considering a 3/4" spacer to get off of the sway bar but my wife would prefer I not start trimming massaging plastic just yet (although I've already removed the mudflaps). Thoughts on something like a 3mm "floating"...
Yes, unfortunately, it made a "slight rubbing" situation much worse. The OEM scrub radius/OEM wheel offset is the easiest way to clear 35s with a bit of trimming and removing mudflaps.
Live and learn!
Hopefully, this helps anyone considering running 35s. It takes a lot more work to do it right (no rubbing) than I was ultimately willing to undertake.
I did repaint the sway bars where it was rubbed down to bare metal. Everything is back to...
After running my 35 inch tires for a while, I decided to put on wheel spacers.
I previously ran spiderTrax wheel spacers on my 200 series, and for three years and a ton of trails I never had an issue.
**edited** The 1" wheel spacers ultimately...
Toyota might slap an 8000 lb rating on it, and almost everything else on the truck is well up to the task…. But needless to say here, the 112.2” wheelbase is always going to be a 112.2” wheelbase. Having towed the same and similar loads between...
OP here. No need to "steer me toward a vehicle that can actually handle that thing."
My post was not me asking for help or guidance.
One more time for anyone in the cheap seats: that "monstrosity" is handled just fine by my Raptor - a 1/2...
I appreciate that - and yes, I have configured mine similarly. I'm not sure why they can't tell us actual temps, that's standard in the industry in 2025. I don't have any real interest in a "vague idea" of what all my temps are doing.
I vote no on the portals. Cool, but you're adding a lot of potential risk for slightly bigger tires. Like you said a bit ago, 35's gets you everywhere you could possibly want to go.
But. A 37 inch'd LX700h is a halo vehicle. Like the G wagon...
I’m not opposed to it. I did run spidertrax spacers on my 200 and had no issues. I do like the look of tires flush with the body as well as slightly lowered CG.
I think a found a decent option for these rigs, well under 4000 lbs, sleeps four, fairly small overall. The company is actually an aircraft company which switched to campers during the pandemic.
