Short answer yes. There are many things about the earliest 40 series that make finding correct parts challenging at times.

But mainly because the water and infrastructure to handle it is already in place 99% of the time. And it is easier and quicker to detect any leaks. it is my choice what I decide to use.

Sand blast followed by an epoxy primer. Any thing short of blasting or dipping isn't going to do much on the nooks and crannies.

What he means is, your oe cable is missing. Looks like a po replaced the two pc speedo cable, with a one pc.
