    Six Goodyear MT/R tires $875

I have six last generation 285/75-16 Goodyear MT/R tires from a project that never happened. Two tires are new, four tires have 11,000 miles on them. Selling because I need a different size for my current vehicle, otherwise I would keep them. Having used both these tires and the new ones, I...

    ARB- Superwinch Husky 10 fit?

No personal experience, but I highly doubt it. To the best of my knowledge, the Husky does not fit in any ARB bumper. Hell of a winch though. Personally, if it is a good deal and you actually plan to use the winch a lot, I'd buy it and modify the bumper to make it work.

80 Series Frame, Suspension, Lockers, on a 60/62 Body?

That's one of my dream vehicles as described. The only thing I would change is going with a Toyota diesel engine for the range.

    Studded snow tire recommendation

In general, studless are better than studded on ice, but require a tread pattern that is not as good in deep or sloppy snow. I run the studded Coopers because they are a good all-around compromise winter tire. It comes down to priorities and driving conditions. If most of your time is spent on...

    Studded snow tire recommendations? Size?

This was covered pretty extensively in the 80 forum a couple years ago. There's a lot of posturing and BS in the thread, but a lot of good info too. You can get a pretty good idea of what tires work in different conditions. I don't think a studded snow tire is any better on ice than a true ice...

Absolute Best Winter Tire For The 80

I posted a link to a review of the Coopers compared with the Blizzak and Nokian above and I think it is pretty accurate. I don't think the Coopers are in the same league as the Nokians, but I couldn't argue with he price. I don't have a lot of miles on them, but they are surprisingly quiet for...

Absolute Best Winter Tire For The 80

Sorry, just saw that. My point was that warm ice (20-32 degrees) is much slicker than cold ice and so the advantage of studs is more pronounced and more important. On cold ice a good studless tire is probably as good, but there is better traction available.

Absolute Best Winter Tire For The 80

Hi all, I just stumbled across this thread in a search and it is the best real world snow tire test I have seen. The author compared the new Nokian LT, Cooper M&S and Blizzak W965 and they scored in that order, though there were some significant caveats based on driving conditions. Also, I...

    Pro Comp AT's, thoughts?

I consider the ProComp AT to be an excellent tire, but probably about the most expensive ones you can find. For the first 10,000 they are the stickiest tires I have run in snow, wet roads and dry trail conditions including sand. From 10,000-15,000 miles they are okay. Around 18,000 or so they...

My shameless plug for Bosch icon wipers!

Unfortunately that is my experience too. The jury is still out, but after six months I would not buy another pair. I will probably try the Silblade Winterblade next, though Silblade either makes or distributes a version of the Icon. I've had problems with wiper chatter since they were new and...

    Mud Tires poor on Ice??

Nay, how many miles do you have on you Trxus tires? They are very high on my list for my next set, but I've heard traction gets very poor part wy through the tread depth.
