    Expedition vehicle: 80 vs. 100

This is going to sound like cheap psychology. The fact that you've posed your question here in the 80 Tech forum instead of the 100 Tech forum means that you're proabably leaning more to an 80. You could have read up on threads in the 100 forum about how great the 100 is as a daily driver, and...

    Big Bear - Oct. 9th

Ran Holcomb Creek 3N93 from Rim of the World to Crab Flats on Sunday. I'm bummed I couldn't make it on Monday. Had to build some bridges in the rock garden to make it thru the rocks w/stock LX450. No way I'd have made it without lockers. Those of you who drove Holcomb on Sunday may have...

IMHO it's too hard to coordinate so many folks w/different dates and schedules. Just keep your eyes out for other LC's running Holcomb and chances are it's one of us from Mud...

    Speedo error

31" tires are the stock size for 80 series FJ. It doesn't make any sense that your speed difference is the constant/same at all speeds. The difference in tire diameter results in different speed readings, and it will be a percentage difference. Here's is another way for you to test both...

    Big Bear - Oct. 9th

How do I make contact with you folks if I come up Sat afternoon Oct 7th or Sun Oct 8th? Do cell phones have reception up there? Probably not. I'd like to check out Holcomb, but John Bull might be a game time decision w/31" rubber.

Anyone using a TJM front bumper?

Does anyone know if a Warn HS9500 winch w/the integrated solenoid will fit in this TJM bumper? The integrated solenoid is attached to the winch and makes it much taller. Thx.

How about cheesy 31" AT's? I've already trashed my running boards. The 3x factory lockers should help offset small tires and lack of lift? No biggie if not do-able, I'll wait until I can afford lift/slider/tire upgrades.

I dunno about Chick-Fil-A 6 times a week. Can't I just swallow goldfish instead? Yep, I am planning on using the "replace the trashed stock running bds" excuse to pick up some sliders. I've checked out both the Hanna and Slee sliders. After I save up some $$, I'll probably end up with the...

I'm a relative newbie to mud and just stumbled onto this SoCal80s board. Just bdt used LX450 1 month ago, and so far I've managed to mangle the factory running boards by running Miller Jeep trail up near Frasier Park. Still no lift, but climbs excellent with factory lockers despite lack of...

    96 Lexus LX 450

I just bdt a 96 LX450 w/130K about 1 mth ago. I had a Toyota dealer do a vehicle inspection - for peace of mind. My HG looks original and appears to be good still. I looked at several FJ80's and some with HG work done, and it is a fairly common issue. But I would not base buying decision on...

Slider Steps - Now for something completely different!

Great design imho. I've been looking at sliders from several vendors but none of them have this unique ability to retract. Best of both worlds. Wife and kids will be happy with the steps in the down position, and provides clearance and body protection in the up position. Only question will...

Just curious - does the 4.5 I6 require premium fuel after a TRD S/C install? 91 octane pump gas would seriously dent wallet...
