Double checked the distributor contact point in relation to the rotor.. had it screwed in a bit too tight, and thus a bit too much of a gap when that contact point opens. Adjusted that and it's starting up much smoother... Hopefully it holds

So... Replaced the ignition coil and distributor contact point, as well as the gas filter that's threads into the top of the manifold (it's been on the list, but just received the part). Spark plugs had been done abt a year ago. It started, but verrrry reluctantly and then had extremely rough...

Went back today with some tools and daylight to see what was going on... Carburetor is getting gas so maybe it's not the fuel pump? What would be the next logical thing to check? Ignition coil, spark plugs, distributor?

Hi all, please point me in the right direction if this has already been discussed - my '90 fj80 with the carbureted 3f engine has been having trouble accelerating in 1st and 2nd, very herherher herky, but then evens out after 3rd gear. Google/forum searches pointed at the fuel pump as possible...

Hi all, jumping on with a follow up question... Just noticed driving today that not only rpm jumps when AC compressor kicks in, but will also accelerate?? Can feel the gas pedal move away from my foot and increased acceleration every time the AC kicks on.... Still normal and just get used to it...

I've checked the BG ground, and it is where it should be - I scrubbed it and reconnected but no dice. I was trying to find the BF ground as in the picture but couldn't locate it. Where exactly is it?

Update - THE BUZZER IS DEAD. I finally found the relay, which is conveniently labelled BUZZER in massive letters, and have unplugged it... It was about half a foot above the normal driver side relay box, under the driver's side kick panel, and I only happened to see it because I finally removed...

Thanks, I'll have to get under there and check this weekend. My brake and reverse lights are working, it's just the turn signals, both front and back and on the dash cluster, that have suddenly stopped 😮‍💨🤷

Hey there, would it be possible for you to take some pictures of what the ground wires and connection points look like on your truck? I'm troubleshooting suddenly non-functioning turn signals - fuses and relay are good/have been replaced - and so next step is the grounds... But I have about 0...

Did you ever figure out what was wrong?? I'm having similar issues with my 1990 80 series... All fuses are good and the relay has been replaced, but turn signals refuse to work 😭

I've seen the silicon air intake hoses.. if I could find one of the right diameter, and cut it to length, theoretically could that work??
