No. You can make your 2F run just fine at 6,500'. I got around Denver with a '73 Aisin carb and an FJ60 big cap dizzy (advanced quite a bit) on a 2F block.
Please don't destroy a beautiful truck with that conversion. Personal opinions of C* aside. If you want a diesel conversion
then dm me and I can find a link to Japanese source for a 13BT or something that's Toyota correct at the very least...
I’m in a bit of a pickle. I have a 1980 FJ40 that is starting to show a bit of age. I have what I believe to be a 2F motor with around 40k original miles that is numbers matching to my truck and runs decent. I live in Colorado about 6500 ft...
Higher lifts are achieved by bigger arches.
Bigger arches mean longer springs.
Longer springs equal increased potential range of motion.
Increased range of motion requires longer shackles.
all 81+ model year Landcruiser had a split case transfer either 40 or 60 series
if it is early 60 stuff, it would be the same as 81-83 40 series stuff, trans shifter might be in the wrong place depending on which top they used on the trans
if it...
There are just little things (maybe I'm making a big deal mentally about it) like parking brake. The 60 used a parking brake system based on the rear drums, while the 40 used a parking brake on the back of the transfer case. If I am running a...
Hey mud!
I’m looking at picking up a solid little 40 series project. It currently has a 60 series engine, transmission, and transfer case bolted up. Nothing has been connected, the drivetrain is just sitting in it.
Is is a favorable combo to...
This thread has turned toxic.
Does it feel good bashing someone who isn’t here to stand up for themselves?
Sure, he F’ed up many times. “Screwed over” many people.
The premise of this thread was to gather all the “Matt F’ed up” threads into...
Toyota Matt is a stand up guy. I’m relatively new to the 80 platform. I had some issues with my 80 I posted about. He reached out to me and walked me through my issues. He spent a few hours of his time asking for nothing in return. He did mention...
This has generally been my experience with Matt as well. Appreciate you posting this.
I hope Matt can get his business in order as he has the potential to be a valuable member of this community again.
Hey guys, just wanted to post this here. Despite everyone’s stories and insistence to not do business with Toyota Matt, I have just in the last month had an entirely different experience than most of you.
I contacted Matt on Instagram on July...
@OGBeno and I talked about this probably 4-5 years ago. I too had some strange dealings with Matt with phone call at midnight.
First I was pissed he was calling at that time but as I listened to him ramble it was evident it was most likely...
Exactly what I was trying to say - and what I'll agree with/get behind @OGBeno. <edit> I do disagree on one point however, after re-reading your post.... I actually believe some of the things he sells are special. (battery cable sets, ground...
While I was the first person ToyotaMatt banned/blocked, it was because he was taking advantage of the general ignorance people have of how the Toyota system works. This was over ten years ago.
I called him out on it. I got banned/blocked...
To be "fair", I never actually got scammed by Matt in the 2 orders I had placed with him. However, they each took forever to receive. One order, which was a full set of locks for my 45, I literally had to follow up with him at least 10 times (I...
Yea I don't necessarily have an issue with that, claiming you're some great part of a community as he liked to do is hard when you're doing something like that but at the same time without that into consideration I feel like that is just shrewd...
